Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let your hands not be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well.

In the morning plant your seeds. In the evening keep your hands busy. You don’t know what will succeed. It may be one or the other. Or both might do equally well.

In the morning sow your seed, and at evening withhold not your hand, for you do not know which will prosper, this or that, or whether both alike will be good.

你們撒的種多，收的卻少；你們吃，卻不得飽；喝，卻不得足；穿衣服，卻不得暖；得工錢的，將工錢裝在破漏的囊中。」萬軍之耶和華如此說：「你們要省察自己的行為。你們要上山取木料，建造這殿，我就因此喜樂，且得榮耀。這是耶和華說的。你們盼望多得，所得的卻少；你們收到家中，我就吹去。這是為甚麼呢？因為我的殿荒涼，你們各人卻顧自己的房屋。這是萬軍之耶和華說的。所以為你們的緣故，天就不降甘露，地也不出土產。我命乾旱臨到地土、山岡、五穀、新酒，和油，並地上的出產、人民、牲畜，以及人手一切勞碌得來的。」

你們要為自己栽種公義，就能收割慈愛。現今正是尋求耶和華的時候；你們要開墾荒地，等他臨到，使公義如雨降在你們身上。

「少種的少收，多種的多收」，這話是真的。

但如今，我待這餘剩的民必不像從前。這是萬軍之耶和華說的。因為他們必平安撒種，葡萄樹必結果子，地土必有出產，天也必降甘露。我要使這餘剩的民享受這一切的福。

收割的人得工價，積蓄五穀到永生，叫撒種的和收割的一同快樂。俗語說：『那人撒種，這人收割』，這話可見是真的。我差你們去收你們所沒有勞苦的；別人勞苦，你們享受他們所勞苦的。」

在你們手下的各樣工作上，我以旱風、霉爛、冰雹攻擊你們，你們仍不歸向我。這是耶和華說的。你們要追想此日以前，就是從這九月二十四日起，追想到立耶和華殿根基的日子。倉裏有穀種嗎？葡萄樹、無花果樹、石榴樹、橄欖樹都沒有結果子。從今日起，我必賜福與你們。

亞波羅算甚麼？保羅算甚麼？無非是執事，照主所賜給他們各人的，引導你們相信。我栽種了，亞波羅澆灌了，惟有神叫他生長。可見栽種的，算不得甚麼，澆灌的，也算不得甚麼；只在那叫他生長的神。

凡你手所當做的事要盡力去做；因為在你所必去的陰間沒有工作，沒有謀算，沒有知識，也沒有智慧。

又說：「神的國如同人把種撒在地上。黑夜睡覺，白日起來，這種就發芽漸長，那人卻不曉得如何這樣。地生五穀是出於自然的：先發苗，後長穗，再後穗上結成飽滿的子粒；穀既熟了，就用鐮刀去割，因為收成的時候到了。」

務要傳道，無論得時不得時，總要專心，並用百般的忍耐、各樣的教訓責備人，警戒人，勸勉人。

但內中有塞浦路斯和古利奈人，他們到了安提阿也向希臘人傳講主耶穌。主與他們同在，信而歸主的人就很多了。

我將這一切事放在心上，詳細考究，就知道義人和智慧人，並他們的作為都在神手中；或是愛，或是恨，都在他們的前面，人不能知道。
