Words from the mouth of the wise are gracious, but fools are consumed by their own lips.

Wise people say gracious things. But foolish people are destroyed by what their own lips speak.

The words of a wise man’s mouth win him favor, but the lips of a fool consume him.

“ As for the head of those who surround me, Let the evil of their lips cover them;

My mouth shall tell of Your righteousness And Your salvation all the day, For I do not know their limits.I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD; I will make mention of Your righteousness, of Yours only.O God, You have taught me from my youth; And to this day I declare Your wondrous works.Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, do not forsake me, Until I declare Your strength to this generation, Your power to everyone who is to come.

So David said to him,“ Your blood is on your own head, for your own mouth has testified against you, saying,‘ I have killed the Lord’s anointed.’”

There is one who speaks like the piercings of a sword, But the tongue of the wise promotes health.

The wise in heart will receive commands, But a prating fool will fall.

So He will make them stumble over their own tongue; All who see them shall flee away.

The mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom, And his tongue talks of justice.

Like a thorn that goes into the hand of a drunkard Is a proverb in the mouth of fools.

I have proclaimed the good news of righteousness In the great assembly; Indeed, I do not restrain my lips, O Lord, You Yourself know.I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart; I have declared Your faithfulness and Your salvation; I have not concealed Your lovingkindness and Your truth From the great assembly.

But I would strengthen you with my mouth, And the comfort of my lips would relieve your grief.

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.

A man has joy by the answer of his mouth, And a word spoken in due season, how good it is!

The wise in heart will be called prudent, And sweetness of the lips increases learning.Understanding is a wellspring of life to him who has it. But the correction of fools is folly.The heart of the wise teaches his mouth, And adds learning to his lips.Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, Sweetness to the soul and health to the bones.

And he said to him,‘ Out of your own mouth I will judge you, you wicked servant. You knew that I was an austere man, collecting what I did not deposit and reaping what I did not sow.

He who winks with the eye causes trouble, But a prating fool will fall.

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold In settings of silver.Like an earring of gold and an ornament of fine gold Is a wise rebuker to an obedient ear.

While your servant was busy here and there, he was gone.” Then the king of Israel said to him,“ So shall your judgment be; you yourself have decided it.”And he hastened to take the bandage away from his eyes; and the king of Israel recognized him as one of the prophets.Then he said to him,“ Thus says the Lord:‘ Because you have let slip out of your hand a man whom I appointed to utter destruction, therefore your life shall go for his life, and your people for his people.’”

A false witness will not go unpunished, And he who speaks lies will not escape.

Surely you have instructed many, And you have strengthened weak hands.Your words have upheld him who was stumbling, And you have strengthened the feeble knees;

She opens her mouth with wisdom, And on her tongue is the law of kindness.
