Do not try to stop me. I am going to destroy them. I will wipe them out from the earth. Then I will make you into a great nation. Your people will be stronger than they were. There will be more of you than there were of them.”

The LORD will be unwilling to forgive him, and his intense anger will rage against that man; all the curses written in this scroll will fall upon him and the LORD will obliterate his name from memory.

You terrified the nations with your battle cry; you destroyed the wicked; you permanently wiped out all memory of them.

So now, leave me alone so that my anger can burn against them and I can destroy them, and I will make from you a great nation.”But Moses sought the favor of the LORD his God and said,“ O LORD, why does your anger burn against your people, whom you have brought out from the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand?Why should the Egyptians say,‘ For evil he led them out to kill them in the mountains and to destroy them from the face of the earth’? Turn from your burning anger, and relent of this evil against your people.Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel your servants, to whom you swore by yourself and told them,‘ I will multiply your descendants like the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken about I will give to your descendants, and they will inherit it forever.’”

May his descendants be cut off! May the memory of them be wiped out by the time the next generation arrives!

The memory of the righteous is a blessing, but the reputation of the wicked will rot.

Then the LORD said to me,“ Even if Moses and Samuel stood before me pleading for these people, I would not feel pity for them! Get them away from me! Tell them to go away!

Then he will reply from inside,‘ Do not bother me. The door is already shut, and my children and I are in bed. I cannot get up and give you anything.’I tell you, even though the man inside will not get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of the first man’s sheer persistence he will get up and give him whatever he needs.“ So I tell you: Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you.For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

The one who conquers will be dressed like them in white clothing, and I will never erase his name from the book of life, but will declare his name before my Father and before his angels.

“ You stubborn people, with uncircumcised hearts and ears! You are always resisting the Holy Spirit, like your ancestors did!

But now, if you will forgive their sin…, but if not, wipe me out from your book that you have written.”The LORD said to Moses,“ Whoever has sinned against me– that person I will wipe out of my book.

Then the LORD said to me,“ Do not pray for good to come to these people!

I post watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; they should keep praying all day and all night. You who pray to the LORD, don’t be silent!Don’t allow him to rest until he reestablishes Jerusalem, until he makes Jerusalem the pride of the earth.

The LORD said to Moses,“ How long will this people despise me, and how long will they not believe in me, in spite of the signs that I have done among them?I will strike them with the pestilence, and I will disinherit them; I will make you into a nation that is greater and mightier than they!”

Then Jesus told them a parable to show them they should always pray and not lose heart.He said,“ In a certain city there was a judge who neither feared God nor respected people.There was also a widow in that city who kept coming to him and saying,‘ Give me justice against my adversary.’For a while he refused, but later on he said to himself,‘ Though I neither fear God nor have regard for people,yet because this widow keeps on bothering me, I will give her justice, or in the end she will wear me out by her unending pleas.’”And the Lord said,“ Listen to what the unrighteous judge says!Won’t God give justice to his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he delay long to help them?I tell you, he will give them justice speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”
