That he may withdraw man[ from his] purpose, and hide pride from man.

Thou calledst in trouble, and I delivered thee; I answered thee in the secret place of thunder: I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. Selah.

I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee.Wherefore I abhor[ myself], and repent in dust and ashes.

Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

The fining pot[ is] for silver, and the furnace for gold: but the LORD trieth the hearts.

Wherefore remember, that ye[ being] in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

But Hezekiah rendered not again according to the benefit[ done] unto him; for his heart was lifted up: therefore there was wrath upon him, and upon Judah and Jerusalem.Notwithstanding Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart,[ both] he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the wrath of the LORD came not upon them in the days of Hezekiah.

And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.

Thou shalt not be afraid of them:[ but] shalt well remember what the LORD thy God did unto Pharaoh, and unto all Egypt;

And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.

His prayer also, and[ how God] was intreated of him, and all his sin, and his trespass, and the places wherein he built high places, and set up groves and graven images, before he was humbled: behold, they[ are] written among the sayings of the seers.

And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.

Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know[ them], and be established in the present truth.Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting[ you] in remembrance;
