然彼賜恩尤大、故曰、天主擯斥驕傲者、賜恩於謙卑者、

人心較萬物詭譎、甚為不善、難以測度、我乃主、鑒察人心、洞澈人之肺腑、視人所行所為、使之得果報、使之得果報或作而加報施

然希西家不報答主恩、中心驕傲、故主向彼與猶大及耶路撒冷震怒、後、希西家除其驕心、與耶路撒冷居民自卑、故希西家存日、主不降之以災、○

亦不需人告以他人如何、原文作亦不需人為人作證因其知人之中藏也、

爾毋懼之、當追憶主爾之天主所行於法老及伊及人之事、

當是日驕矜者必卑、狂傲者必降、惟主獨顯崇高、

其祈禱蒙允、其一切罪愆、未自卑以前在何處築邱壇、立亞舍拉及偶像、俱載於何賽何賽或作先見之書、

且必盡殺其黨、使教會知我鑒察人之心腹腎腸、必按爾各人所為而報之、

故爾雖知此、且堅定於所得之真道、我恆以此諸事使爾憶之、蓋我尚在此幕之時、勸勉爾、使爾憶此諸事、我以為宜然也、

可愛者乎、我今書此後書達爾、我在此二書、使爾記憶、以激發爾之善心、使爾記憶聖先知之預言、及我主救主之命、即我使徒所授者也、
