我導爾於野、歷四十年、爾衣在身而不敝、爾履在足而不壞、

耶和華諭摩西曰、我必自天雨糧、民宜日出、斂日所需、以試其遵我法律否、

我必述耶和華所行、念其古時異蹟兮、

使爾信之驗、寶於火煉可壞之金、於耶穌基督之顯著、得厥讚美、與尊與榮、

導其民歷曠野、以其慈惠永存兮、

我語汝、此人歸、較彼見義、蓋自高者、將卑之、自卑者、將高之也、○

厥後、上帝試亞伯拉罕、呼之曰、亞伯拉罕、曰、我在此、

四十年十一月朔、摩西遵耶和華命、悉諭以色列人、

惟彼賜尤大之恩、故曰、上帝拒驕傲者、賜恩於謙卑者、

人心詭詐、逾於萬物、其疾甚重、誰能洞識、我耶和華鑒察人之心意、試驗人之衷懷、按其所行之途、所結之實、而加報施、

既遭患難、則求其上帝耶和華、在其列祖之上帝前、自卑維甚、

毋聽其言、蓋爾上帝耶和華試爾、欲知爾果一心一意、愛爾上帝耶和華否、

彼為爾先導、擇張幕之所、夜以火、晝以雲、示爾當行之道、

我列祖在埃及、不明爾異蹟、不憶爾厚惠、乃於紅海悖逆兮、

彼至之日、誰能當之、彼顯之時、誰能立乎、蓋彼若煆金之火、如漂布之鹼、將坐、如煉銀而潔之者、以潔利未子孫、煉之若金銀、則必依義獻祭於耶和華、

使人改其意志、遏其驕矜、

爾遭難而呼我、我即救爾、自雷霆隱處俞允爾、試爾於米利巴水兮、

昔我耳聞爾、今我目睹爾、故我自憾、在於灰塵、而自悔焉、○

自卑於主前、主則升爾、○

鼎以鍊銀、爐以鍊金、惟耶和華鍛鍊人心、

故當記憶爾昔以形軀為異邦人、彼於形軀由人手所謂割者、謂爾為無割、當時爾與基督相隔、與以色列民相異、外乎應許諸約、無有所望、在世無上帝、

惟希西家不報所受之恩、中心高傲、以是震怒將及於彼、與猶大暨耶路撒冷、然希西家抑其驕心、與耶路撒冷居民自卑、故希西家存日、耶和華之怒未及之、

無須人證乎人、自知其內蘊矣、

勿懼之、當憶爾上帝耶和華、所行於法老與埃及之事、

是日也、人之高志必降、人之驕矜必卑、惟耶和華獨見崇高、

其祈禱與蒙允、及其罪過、並未自卑以前、築崇邱、立木偶、設雕像之處、俱載於何賽之書、

且斃其子女、俾諸會知我乃察人心腸者、依爾曹所行而施之也、

爾雖知此、且堅定於所得之真理、我必恆使爾憶之、我尚在此幕時、勉爾記憶、宜也、

愛友乎、我今以此後書遺爾、俱以勵爾誠心、俾爾記憶、即念夫聖先知往昔之言、及主救者藉爾之使徒所命、
