and when the Lord your God has delivered them over to you and you have defeated them, then you must destroy them totally. Make no treaty with them, and show them no mercy.

蓋爾上帝耶和華遨遊於營中、以拯爾曹、敗亡諸敵、故營必為潔、恐見污物、與爾相離。

毋與其人立約、毋事其上帝。勿容之居斯土、恐誘爾獲罪於我、若奉其上帝、則必陷爾於坎阱。

凡獻我之物、無論人畜田畝、俱不得鬻、亦不得贖、所獻禮物、不可復贖、乃必宰之。

惟赫人、亞摩哩人、迦南人、比哩洗人、希未人、耶布士人、爾之上帝耶和華以其邑付爾得之、爾必盡滅其眾、凡有血氣者、不全其生、遵爾上帝耶和華命。

爾與斯土之民、不可立約、必摧其壇、汝不遵命、果何為哉。

二人曰、我之所為當秘勿宣、則我以己命代爾、迨耶和華以斯土予我、我必待爾以仁慈、真實無妄。

偵者見人由邑出、謂之曰、是邑何由而入、請爾指示、我將矜恤爾。

約書亞擊南方陵谷、沿溪之民、與其王、凡有血氣、俱為所滅、靡有孑遺、循耶和華命。

於是我之上帝耶和華、以巴山王噩、及其人民付於我手、為我翦滅、靡有孑遺。

會長既指以色列族上帝耶和華而誓、故不擊之、會眾怨會長。會長告眾曰、我儕已指以色列族上帝耶和華而誓、故不可害斯人。既與盟約必存其生、否則干上帝之怒。又曰、可存其生、使為採樵者、汲水者、服事會眾、以踐前約。

耶和華以立拿與王及民、付與以色列族、刃擊居民、靡有孑遺、如昔伐耶利哥王、今伐立拿王亦然。○

是日約書亞取馬基大、刃擊其王、盡滅其民、靡有孑遺。如昔伐耶利哥王、今伐馬基大王亦如是。

爾毋允從、毋聽順、毋姑縱、毋矜恤、毋藏匿、

必以城邑、及其所有、獻耶和華、而盡滅之、惟妓喇合、曾匿我使、故彼與全家、可存其生、所獻與所滅者勿取、恐爾亦為盡滅、使以色列族之營壘服詛、而累於禍。金銀銅鐵之器、必獻耶和華、貯其府庫。於是祭司吹角、民聞之則號呼、其聲清越、城垣傾圮、民得前進、而取其城、盡滅所有、戮男女老幼、牛羊與驢。約書亞告二偵者曰、入妓之室、取其人出、與凡所有、循爾所誓之言。偵者入、取喇合、及父母兄弟親戚、與凡所有、置之城外、居以色列族營壘。以色列族燬其城、惟金銀銅鐵諸器、貯於耶和華府庫。約書亞因妓喇合曾匿所遣窺察耶利哥之使、故特救之、及其眷聚、使居以色列族中、至於今日。○

必驅居民、凡勒像於碑、及鎔鑄之偶像、汝必壞之、毀厥崇邱、

埃之居民、追以色列族、至於田野、反為以色列族殺戮、俱死以刃、淪胥以亡、後以色列族至埃邑、盡滅所有。

爾所往之地、勿與其民立約、恐陷爾於坎阱。必摧其壇、毀其像、斫其偶、斷不容爾以他上帝匹我、此乃我耶和華之名也、故他上帝爾勿崇拜。勿與居民立約、恐彼狥欲、從其上帝而獻祭、遂招爾曹共食祭物。恐爾取其女為媳、其女狥欲從其上帝、以惑爾子亦狥欲以從。

爾臨城攻之、先告以和、如以和相應、自啟邑門、則彼邑民、必入貢而服事爾、

猶大族乃往、耶和華以迦南人、比哩洗人、付於其手、在庇泄殺人一萬。

爾之上帝耶和華既屢敗爾敵、大滅其能、將王及民、付於爾手、則爾當滅其名於天下、無人能禦爾、待爾殲之、

對曰、有告我云、爾之上帝、耶和華曾諭其僕摩西使滅斯土之民、以地給爾、故我甚畏、以命難保、遂行是事。

既出、約書亞召以色列眾語軍長曰爾前、置足於王頸、遂前、如言而行。約書亞告之曰、毋恐懼、毋畏葸、強乃志、壯乃心、蓋耶和華將伐爾敵、俱必如是。

耶和華以拉吉付於以色列族、二日取之、刃擊拉吉與居民、如昔伐立拿無異。

耶和華踐其所誓之言、以諸敵付於以色列族、無敵可禦、而於四周錫以平康、

以色列族刃擊居民、翦滅其眾、凡有血氣者、靡有孑遺、遂焚夏朔以火。約書亞取諸邑、與其王、以刃擊之、翦滅其眾、靡有孑遺、循耶和華僕摩西之命。

至高上帝使爾制敵、當頌美之。亞伯蘭以所獲者、什一奉麥基洗德、

初基遍人不屬以色列族、乃亞摩哩族遺民。以色列族與之盟約、掃羅為以色列猶大二族熱中而殺之、至是大闢召基遍人、

列王諸地、悉為約書亞一時所取、蓋其上帝耶和華、助以色列族以戰。

我耶和華而外、祭他上帝者、必翦滅之。
