但向恨他的人，卻要當面報應他們，把他們滅盡；恨他的，他都要當面報應他，決不遲延。

But those who hate him he will repay to their face by destruction; he will not be slow to repay to their face those who hate him.

But he does not hesitate to punish and destroy those who reject him.

耶和華是嫉惡和施行報復的神；耶和華施行報復，並且滿懷烈怒；耶和華向他的對頭施行報復，向他的仇敵懷怒。

他要按照各人的行為施行報應，把烈怒降與他的敵人，把報應加給他的仇敵，向眾海島的人施行報應。

你的手要搜出你所有的仇敵，你的右手必搜出那些恨你的人。你出現的時候，就要使他們像熾熱的火爐；耶和華必在他的震怒中吞滅他們，火必燒滅他們。

所以你要知道耶和華你的神，他是神，是信實可靠的神；他向愛他和守他誡命的人，守約並且施慈愛，直到千代。

主決不耽延他的應許，像有些人以為他是耽延的一樣；其實他是寬容你們，不願有一人滅亡，卻願人人都悔改。但主的日子必要像賊一樣來到。在那日，天必轟然一聲地消失，所有元素都因烈火而融化；地和地上所有的，都要被燒毀（“被燒毀”有不少古抄本作“被發現”）。

如果我磨亮了我的刀劍，如果我掌握了審判權，就必向我的仇敵伸冤，必向恨我的人報應。

外有刀劍，內有驚恐，使人喪亡，使少男少女，嬰孩和白髮老人，盡都喪亡。

等到他們失足的時候，我要伸冤報應；因為他們遭遇災難的日子近了，那預備要臨到他們身上的事，必快快臨到。

親愛的啊，不要為自己伸冤，寧可等候主的忿怒，因為經上記著，主說：“伸冤在我，我必報應。”

不可跪拜它們，也不可事奉它們，因為我耶和華你們的神是忌邪的神；恨惡我的，我必追討他們的罪，從父親到兒子，直到三四代。

恨我的，也恨我的父。如果我沒有在他們中間作過別人沒有作過的事，他們就沒有罪；但現在我和我的父，他們都看見了，也都恨惡。

義人在世上尚且受報應，何況惡人和罪人呢？
