“你只要自己谨慎，又要谨守你的心思，免得你忘了你亲眼看见的事，又免得这些事在你有生之日离开你的心；总要把这些事传给你的子子孙孙，免得你忘了你在何烈山，站在耶和华你们的神面前的那天。那时耶和华对我说：‘你要为我召集众民，我要叫他们听我的话，使他们在那地上生活的日子，可以学习敬畏我，又可以教训自己的儿女。’

一句坏话也不可出口，却要适当地说造就人的好话，使听见的人得益处。

我们不把这些事向他们的子孙隐瞒，却要把耶和华应得的赞美、他的能力，和他所行的奇事，都向后代的人述说。他在雅各设立法度，在以色列中制订律法，就是他吩咐我们的列祖，去教训他们的子孙的，好使后代的人，包括将要出生的儿女，都可以知道；他们也要起来，告诉他们的子孙，

日后你的儿子若是问你们：‘这是什么意思？’你就要回答他：‘耶和华曾经用大能的手把我们从埃及为奴之家领出来。那时法老心里刚硬，不让我们离开，耶和华就把埃及地所有头生的，无论是人或是牲畜都杀了；所以，我把所有头生的公牲口都献给耶和华为祭；但我所有头生的儿子，却都要代赎回来。

良善的人从心中所存的良善发出良善，邪恶的人从心中所存的邪恶发出邪恶；因为心中所充满的，口里就说出来。

只要心里尊基督为圣，以他为主；常常作好准备，去回答那些问你们为什么怀有盼望的人，

义人的嘴唇培育多人，愚妄人因无知死亡。

我在君王面前讲论你的法度，也不以为耻。

那时，敬畏耶和华的人彼此谈论，耶和华也留意细听；在他面前有记录册，记录那些敬畏耶和华和思念他名的人。

智慧人的舌头阐扬知识；愚昧人的口发出愚妄。

你们的话要常常温和，好像是用盐调和的，使你们知道应当怎样回答各人。

过路的人也不说：“愿耶和华所赐的福临到你们；我们奉耶和华的名祝福你们。”

聚集在城门的众人和长老都说：“我们都是见证人。愿耶和华使进你家的这女人，像建立以色列家的拉结和利亚二人一样。愿你在以法他显大，在伯利恒扬名。

义人的口说出智慧，他的舌头讲论正义。

波阿斯刚好从伯利恒来，对收割的人说：“愿耶和华与你们同在。”他们回答：“愿耶和华赐福与你。”

愿耶和华照你所作的报答你；你来投靠在耶和华以色列神的翅膀下，愿他充充足足酬报你。”
