我拣选了他，是要他教导自己的子孙后代持守我的道、秉公行义。这样，我必实现对他的应许。”

“要谨慎、小心，不可忘记亲眼所见的事，要一生铭记在心，并且告诉子子孙孙。那天，你们在何烈山站在你们的上帝耶和华面前，耶和华对我说，‘把民众招聚起来，让他们听我的教诲，学习一生敬畏我，并传授给自己的儿女。’

污言秽语一句都不可出口，要随时随地说造就人的好话，使听的人得益处。

我们不要在子孙面前隐瞒事实，要把耶和华当受称颂的作为、祂的权能和所行的奇事告诉下一代。因为祂为雅各制定法度，为以色列设立律法，又吩咐我们的祖先把这些律法传给儿女，好让他们也照样教导自己的子孙后代，世代相传。

将来你们的子孙问起这件事的意义，你们就回答，‘耶和华曾经用大能的手把我们从受奴役之地——埃及领出来。当时法老硬着心不肯放我们走，所以耶和华就把埃及人的长子和头生的牲畜全都杀了。因此，我们把所有头生的公畜当作祭牲献给耶和华，只把长子赎回来。’

善人心存良善，就从他里面发出良善；恶人心存邪恶，就从他里面发出邪恶。因为心里充满的，口里自然会说出来。

要心里尊基督为主。如果有人问起你们心中的盼望，你们要随时准备答复，

义人的口滋养众人，愚人因无知而死亡。

我要在君王面前讲论你的法度，我不以此为耻。

你行走，它们必引领你；你躺卧，它们必护卫你；你醒来，它们必与你交谈。

耶和华啊，你知道我在大会中宣扬你的公义，没有闭口不言。我述说你的信实和拯救之恩，没有把你的公义隐而不宣，没有在大会中避而不谈你的慈爱和真理。

智者的嘴传扬知识，愚人的心并非如此。

那时，敬畏耶和华的彼此交谈，耶和华必留心倾听，祂面前的纪念册上记录着敬畏祂和尊崇祂名的人。

智者的舌头传扬知识，愚人的嘴巴吐露愚昧。

谈吐要温和、风趣，知道该怎样回答每个人。

没有一个路过的人说：“愿耶和华赐福给你们！我们奉耶和华的名祝福你们。”

聚集在城门口的众人和长老都说：“我们愿意作证。愿耶和华使要进你家门的这女子，像建立以色列家的拉结和利亚一样。愿你在以法他家业兴隆，在伯利恒声名远播。

义人口出智慧，诉说正义，

当时，波阿斯刚好从伯利恒来到田间，向那些收割的工人问安说：“愿耶和华与你们同在。”他们回答说：“愿耶和华赐福与你。”

愿耶和华照你所行的奖赏你！你来投靠在以色列的上帝耶和华的翅膀下，愿祂厚厚地赏赐你。”
