The Lord commanded us to obey all these decrees and to fear the Lord our God, so that we might always prosper and be kept alive, as is the case today.

The Lord our God commanded us to obey all his rules. He commanded us to honor him. If we do, we will always succeed and be kept alive. That’s what is happening today.

摩西寫着說：『人若行那本着律法的義，就必因着這個而活。』

那麼、你們當時得了甚麼果子呢？無非是你們如今所看為羞恥的事罷了：那些事的結局就是死。但如今呢、你們既得自由、脫離了罪、給上帝做奴僕，就有果子以至於聖化了：那結局乃是永生。

但是你們要先尋求他的國和他的義，這一切就都附加給你們了。

他使你受苦，任你饑餓，將你和你列祖所不認識的嗎哪賜給你喫，使你知道人活着、不是單靠着食物，人活着、乃是靠着永恆主口裏所出的一切話。

敬畏永恆主、存心謙卑、的賞報、乃是富足、尊榮、和生命。

惟有你們這緊依附着永恆主你們的上帝的人、今日全都活着。

義人有福啊！他們有好處，因為他們必喫他們行為的果子。

你若行義，你能給他甚麼？或是他能從你手裏得到甚麼呢？你的惡只能害到你這樣的人而已；你的正義也只能叫世人得到益處罷了。

你若有智慧，你的智慧是於你自己有益的；你若褻慢人，你也須要獨自擔受惡果。

『現在呢、以色列啊，永恆主你的上帝向你要的是甚麼呢？豈不是只要你敬畏永恆主你的上帝，在他一切的道路上走，愛他，全心全意來事奉永恆主你的上帝，遵守永恆主的誡命和律例，就是我今日所吩咐你、為要使你得好處的麼？
