for the Lord your God, who is among you, is a jealous God and his anger will burn against you, and he will destroy you from the face of the land.

The Lord your God is among you. He wants you to worship only him. If you worship other gods, God will be very angry with you. And he will destroy you from the face of the land.

for the Lord your God in your midst is a jealous God— lest the anger of the Lord your God be kindled against you, and he destroy you from off the face of the earth.

for the Lord your God, who lives among you, is a jealous God. His anger will flare up against you, and he will wipe you from the face of the earth.

因為耶和華－你的神是吞滅的火，是忌邪的神。

不可跪拜那些像，也不可事奉它們，因為我耶和華－你的神是忌邪的神。恨我的，我必懲罰他們的罪，自父及子，直到三、四代；

因為他必使你的兒女離棄我，去事奉別神，以致耶和華的怒氣向你們發作，迅速將你除滅。

以致耶和華的怒氣向你們發作，使天封閉不下雨，使地不出產，使你們在耶和華所賜給你們的美地上速速滅亡。

這事使耶羅波安的家陷入罪裏，甚至他的家被剪除，從地面上消滅了。

為甚麼讓埃及人說：『他領他們出去，是要降災禍給他們，在山中把他們殺了，將他們從地上除滅』呢？求你回心轉意，不發你的烈怒，不降災禍給你的百姓。

看哪，主耶和華的眼目察看這有罪的國度，要把它從地面上滅絕，卻不將雅各家滅絕淨盡。」這是耶和華說的。

他們卻嘲笑神的使者，藐視他的話，譏誚他的先知，以致耶和華向他的百姓大發烈怒，甚至無法可救。

誰曉得你怒氣的權勢？誰因着敬畏你而曉得你的憤怒呢？

「在地上萬族中，我只認識你們；因此，我必懲罰你們一切的罪孽。」

不可跪拜那些像，也不可事奉它們，因為我耶和華－你的神是忌邪的神。恨我的，我必懲罰他們的罪，自父及子，直到三、四代；

當日，耶和華的怒氣發作，起誓說：『凡從埃及上來二十歲以上的人，斷不得看見我對亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各起誓應許之地，因為他們沒有專心跟從我；惟有基尼洗族耶孚尼的兒子迦勒，還有嫩的兒子約書亞可以看見，因為他們專心跟從耶和華。』耶和華的怒氣向以色列發作，使他們在曠野飄流四十年，直到在耶和華眼前作惡的那一代都消滅了。看哪，你們這一夥罪人，竟然接續你們父執之輩，再增加耶和華對以色列所發的怒氣。你們若轉離不跟從他，他要再把以色列人撇在曠野；這樣，你們就使這眾百姓滅亡了。」

我們因你的怒氣而消滅，因你的憤怒而驚惶。

因為再過七天，我要降雨在地上四十晝夜，把我所造的一切生物從地面上除滅。」

我們要惹主的嫉恨嗎？我們比他更強嗎？
