for the Lord your God, who is among you, is a jealous God and his anger will burn against you, and he will destroy you from the face of the land.

The Lord your God is among you. He wants you to worship only him. If you worship other gods, God will be very angry with you. And he will destroy you from the face of the land.

for the Lord your God in your midst is a jealous God— lest the anger of the Lord your God be kindled against you, and he destroy you from off the face of the earth.

for the Lord your God, who lives among you, is a jealous God. His anger will flare up against you, and he will wipe you from the face of the earth.

因為你們的上帝耶和華是烈火，是痛恨不貞的上帝。

不可跪拜它們，也不可供奉它們，因為我——你的上帝耶和華痛恨不貞，我必追討背棄我之人的罪，從父到子直到三四代。

因為他們會讓你們的兒女離棄耶和華去拜其他神明，以致耶和華向你們發怒，迅速毀滅你們。

否則，耶和華必向你們發怒，使天不下雨、地無出產，以致你們在祂賜給你們的佳美之地上迅速滅亡。

這罪使耶羅波安家走向沒落，最終徹底滅亡。

難道你要讓埃及人議論說你領他們出來是出於惡意，是為了在山野之間殺掉他們，從地上滅絕他們嗎？求你息怒，施憐憫，不要降禍給你的子民。

主耶和華的眼目察看這罪惡的國家，我要從地上除滅它，但不會完全毀滅雅各家。這是耶和華說的。

他們卻嘲弄耶和華上帝的使者，藐視祂的話，嘲笑祂的先知，以致祂的憤怒臨到祂的子民身上，無可挽救。

誰明白你憤怒的威力？有誰因為明白你的烈怒而對你心存敬畏呢？

『世上萬族之中，我只揀選了你們，所以我要因你們的罪惡而懲罰你們。』」

不可跪拜它們，也不可供奉它們，因為我——你的上帝耶和華痛恨不貞，我必追討背棄我之人的罪，從父到子直到三四代。

那天耶和華發怒，起誓說，『從埃及出來、二十歲以上的人都看不到我起誓要賜給亞伯拉罕、以撒和雅各的土地，因為他們沒有全心全意地跟從我；只有基尼洗族耶孚尼的兒子迦勒和嫩的兒子約書亞可以看到，因為他們全心全意地跟從我。』耶和華向以色列人發怒，使他們在曠野漂泊了四十年，直到在耶和華面前作惡的那一代都死了。「現在，你們這群罪人的後代竟然重蹈前人的覆轍，加劇耶和華的怒氣。如果你們離棄祂，祂必再次把以色列人丟棄在曠野，這樣你們就毀了整個民族。」

你的怒氣使我們滅亡，你的憤怒使我們戰抖。

因為七天之後，我要在地上降雨四十晝夜，毀滅我所造的一切生靈。」

我們想惹主嫉妒嗎？難道我們比祂更有能力嗎？
