I stood as an intermediary between you and the Lord, for you were afraid of the fire and did not want to approach the mountain. He spoke to me, and I passed his words on to you. This is what he said:

( I stood between Yahweh and you at that time, to show you Yahweh’s word; for you were afraid because of the fire, and didn’t go up onto the mountain) saying,

那么，为什么要有律法呢？是为了过犯的缘故才加上的，直到那得应许的后裔来到。律法是藉着天使经中保的手设立的；

到了第三天早晨的时候，山上有雷声、闪电和密云，并且角声非常强大，以致所有在营中的人民都颤抖。

全体人民都看见打雷、闪电、角声和冒着烟的山；人民看见了，就颤抖，远远地站着。他们对摩西说：“求你和我们说话吧，我们必定听你的话，不可让神和我们说话，恐怕我们死亡。”摩西回答人民：“不要惧怕，因为神降临是要试验你们，叫你们常常敬畏他，不至犯罪。”于是，人民远远地站着，摩西却走近神所在的幽暗之中。

你们不是来到那座摸得着的山。那里有烈火、密云、幽暗、暴风、号筒的响声和说话的声音；那些听见这声音的人，都请求神不要再向他们多说话；因为他们担当不起那命令：“就是走兽挨近这山，也要用石头把它打死。”当时，显出的景象是那么可怕，连摩西也说：“我非常恐惧战兢。”你们却是来到锡安山和永活的神的城，就是天上的耶路撒冷；在那里有千万的天使聚集，有名字登记在天上众长子的教会，有审判众人的神，有被成全的义人的灵魂，有新约的中保耶稣，还有他所洒的血。这血所传的信息比亚伯的血所传的更美。

只有摩西一人可以走近耶和华，他们却不可以亲近；人民也不可和摩西一同上来。”摩西下来，把耶和华的一切话和一切典章都向人民讲述；人民都同声回答，说：“耶和华吩咐的一切话，我们都必遵行。”

因为基督不是进了人手所做的圣所（那不过是真圣所的表象），而是进到天上，现在替我们显露在神的面前。

他们的元首必是他们自己的人，他们的统治者必出自他们中间；我必使他近前来，他也必亲近我，不然，谁敢冒生命的危险来亲近我呢？’这是耶和华的宣告。

现在求你走前去，听听耶和华我们的神要说的一切话；然后你要把耶和华我们的神对你所说的一切话，都告诉我们；我们就必听从，也必遵行。’

耶和华又使我看见大祭司约书亚站在耶和华的使者面前，撒但也站在约书亚右边控告他。耶和华对撒但说：“撒但哪！耶和华斥责你，那拣选了耶路撒冷的耶和华斥责你。这个人不是从火中抽出来的一根柴吗？”那时，约书亚穿着污秽的衣服，站在使者的面前。使者吩咐那些侍立在他面前的说：“你们要脱去他污秽的衣服。”又对约书亚说：“看哪！我已经除去了你的罪孽，要给你穿上华美的礼服。”我说：“你们要把洁净的冠冕戴在他的头上。”他们就把洁净的冠冕戴在他的头上，又给他穿上华美的衣服。那时，耶和华的使者正在旁边站着。

所以他说要灭绝他们，不是有他拣选的摩西，在他面前站在破口上，使他的怒气转消，恐怕他早已毁灭他们了。

其中二人从那里动身，向所多玛走去，亚伯拉罕却仍然站在耶和华面前。

他站在死人与活人中间，瘟疫就止住了。
