From heaven he made you hear his voice to discipline you. On earth he showed you his great fire, and you heard his words from out of the fire.

有没有一个民族听见神在火中说话的声音，像你听见的一样，还能活着呢？

你降临西奈山上，从天上与他们说话，赐给他们正直的典章、真实的律法、美好的条例与诫命。

你们要谨慎，不要弃绝那位说话的，因为从前的人弃绝了那位在地上警戒他们的，尚且不能逃罪；何况现在我们背弃那位从天上警戒我们的呢？

全体人民都看见打雷、闪电、角声和冒着烟的山；人民看见了，就颤抖，远远地站着。他们对摩西说：“求你和我们说话吧，我们必定听你的话，不可让神和我们说话，恐怕我们死亡。”摩西回答人民：“不要惧怕，因为神降临是要试验你们，叫你们常常敬畏他，不至犯罪。”于是，人民远远地站着，摩西却走近神所在的幽暗之中。耶和华对摩西说：“你要对以色列人这样说：‘你们亲自看见我从天上和你们说话了。

你们不是来到那座摸得着的山。那里有烈火、密云、幽暗、暴风、

耶和华的荣耀停在西奈山上，云彩把山遮盖了六天；第七天，耶和华从云彩中呼唤摩西。
