彼曾從巴蘭之計、誘以色列人拜毘珥、得罪於主、以致主之會遇瘟疫、

主曰、昔我得以色列族、如葡萄在曠野、視爾列祖、如在無花果樹初熟之果、然彼就巴力毘珥、專心崇拜可恥之物、遂為可憎、與所崇之物無異、

昔摩西與祭司亞倫計以色列人於西乃野、彼時被數者、無一人在今所數者之中、

昔崇拜毘珥、其罪豈小乎、主之會眾、雖已為此遭疫癘、我儕至今猶未盡脫之、
