Then the Lord spoke to you out of the fire. You heard the sound of words but saw no form; there was only a voice.

Then the LORD spoke to you from the fire. You kept hearing the sound of the words, but didn’t see a form; there was only a voice.

主在山上、由火中面諭爾、

以上諸言、主在山上由火中雲中幽暗中、大聲諭爾全會、此外無他言、主即將此言書於二石板而授於我、

主自天令爾聞其聲以教訓爾、在地使爾見其烈火、而由火中聽其言、

主在何烈山、由火中諭爾、其時爾曹未見何像、故甚當謹慎、

地震後有烈火、主亦不在其中、火後有細微之聲、以利亞聞之、以衣蒙面而出、立穴口、有聲詰之曰、以利亞、爾在此何為、

蓋耶穌由父天主得尊榮、自至大之榮光中、有聲臨之曰、此我愛子、我所悅者也、此聲自天、我儕偕彼在聖山之時親聞之、

有聲呼曰、在曠野備主之路、在沙漠地為我天主修直其道、或作曠野有聲呼曰當備主之路在沙漠地為我天主修直其道

有聲曰、爾當宣告、問曰、我當何所宣告、曰、凡有血氣者如草、其榮如田野之花、

此人乃先知以賽亞所指者曰、野有聲呼云、備主道、直其徑、

爾曹以誰比天主、以何象像之、

主諭摩西曰、爾告以色列人云、我自天與爾言、為爾所睹、

自天有聲云、此乃我愛子、我所喜悅者也、

爾或往左、或往右、耳中必聞爾後有聲曰、此乃正道、爾當行之、

父歟、願爾榮爾名、倏有聲自天來云、我已榮之、必再榮之、旁立之眾聞之曰、此雷聲也、有曰、天使與之言、耶穌曰、此聲非為我、乃為爾曹、

我與之面語、明以相告、不以隱語、又使之瞻觀我容、爾曹誹謗我僕摩西、何不懼乎、

彼乃不可見天主之像、生於萬物之先、

言時、有光耀之雲覆之、有聲自雲出曰、此我愛子、我所喜悅者、爾當聽之、
