And this is the blessing to Judah. He said, Listen, O LORD, to Judah’s voice, and bring him to his people. May his power be great, and may you help him against his foes.

And this he said about Judah:“ Hear, Lord, the cry of Judah; bring him to his people. With his own hands he defends his cause. Oh, be his help against his foes!”

Here’s what Moses said about Judah.“ Lord, listen to Judah cry out. Bring him to his people. By his own power he stands up for himself. Lord, help him fight against his enemies!”

And this he said of Judah:“ Hear, O Lord, the voice of Judah, and bring him in to his people. With your hands contend for him, and be a help against his adversaries.”

Moses said this about the tribe of Judah:“ O Lord, hear the cry of Judah and bring them together as a people. Give them strength to defend their cause; help them against their enemies!”

He said this about Judah: LORD, hear Judah’s cry and bring him to his people. He fights for his cause with his own hands, but may you be a help against his foes.

And this was regarding Judah; so he said:“ Hear, Lord, the voice of Judah, And bring him to his people. With his hands he contended for them, And may You be a help against his adversaries.”

And this he said of Judah:“ Hear, Lord, the voice of Judah, And bring him to his people; Let his hands be sufficient for him, And may You be a help against his enemies.”

And this is the blessing of Judah: and he said, Hear, Jehovah, the voice of Judah, And bring him in unto his people. With his hands he contended for himself; And thou shalt be a help against his adversaries.

And this[ is the blessing] of Judah: and he said, Hear, LORD, the voice of Judah, and bring him unto his people: let his hands be sufficient for him; and be thou an help[ to him] from his enemies.

This is for Judah. He said,“ Hear, Yahweh, the voice of Judah. Bring him in to his people. With his hands he contended for himself. You shall be a help against his adversaries.”

Judah, your brothers will praise you. Your hand will be on the neck of your enemies, your father’s sons will bow down before you.You are a lion’s cub, Judah, from the prey, my son, you have gone up. He crouches and lies down like a lion; like a lioness– who will rouse him?The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, until he comes to whom it belongs; the nations will obey him.Binding his foal to the vine, and his colt to the choicest vine, he will wash his garments in wine, his robes in the blood of grapes.His eyes will be dark from wine, and his teeth white from milk.

So the sovereign master was not pleased with their young men, he took no pity on their orphans and widows; for the whole nation was godless and did wicked things, every mouth was speaking disgraceful words. Despite all this, his anger does not subside, and his hand is ready to strike again.

I was with you wherever you went, and I defeated all your enemies before you. Now I will make you as famous as the great men of the earth.I will establish a place for my people Israel and settle them there; they will live there and not be disturbed any more. Violent men will not oppress them again, as they did in the beginningand during the time when I appointed judges to lead my people Israel. Instead, I will give you relief from all your enemies. The LORD declares to you that he himself will build a dynastic house for you.When the time comes for you to die, I will raise up your descendant, one of your own sons, to succeed you, and I will establish his kingdom.

He is dressed in clothing dipped in blood, and he is called the Word of God.The armies that are in heaven, dressed in white, clean, fine linen, were following him on white horses.From his mouth extends a sharp sword, so that with it he can strike the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod, and he stomps the winepress of the furious wrath of God, the All- Powerful.He has a name written on his clothing and on his thigh:“ King of kings and Lord of lords.”

After Joshua died, the Israelites asked the LORD,“ Who should lead the invasion against the Canaanites and launch the attack?”The LORD said,“ The men of Judah should take the lead. Be sure of this! I am handing the land over to them.”The men of Judah said to their relatives, the men of Simeon,“ Invade our allotted land with us and help us attack the Canaanites. Then we will go with you into your allotted land.” So the men of Simeon went with them.The men of Judah attacked, and the LORD handed the Canaanites and Perizzites over to them. They killed ten thousand men at Bezek.They met Adoni-Bezek at Bezek and fought him. They defeated the Canaanites and Perizzites.When Adoni-Bezek ran away, they chased him and captured him. Then they cut off his thumbs and big toes.Adoni-Bezek said,“ Seventy kings, with thumbs and big toes cut off, used to lick up food scraps under my table. God has repaid me for what I did to them.” They brought him to Jerusalem, where he died.

Each day men came to help David until his army became very large.

But as for these enemies of mine who did not want me to be their king, bring them here and slaughter them in front of me!’”

In the LORD I have taken shelter. How can you say to me,“ Flee to a mountain like a bird!For look, the wicked prepare their bows, they put their arrows on the strings, to shoot in the darkness at the morally upright.When the foundations are destroyed, what can the godly accomplish?”The LORD is in his holy temple; the LORD’s throne is in heaven. His eyes watch; his eyes examine all people.The LORD approves of the godly, but he hates the wicked and those who love to do violence.May the LORD rain down burning coals and brimstone on the wicked! A whirlwind is what they deserve!Certainly the LORD is just; he rewards godly deeds; the upright will experience his favor.

He chose the tribe of Judah, and Mount Zion, which he loves.

For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.

How blessed is the one whose helper is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God,

May he send you help from his temple; from Zion may he give you support!

So David asked the LORD,“ Should I march up against the Philistines? Will you hand them over to me?” The LORD said to David,“ March up, for I will indeed hand the Philistines over to you.”

He chose David, his servant, and took him from the sheepfolds.

All the tribes of Israel came to David at Hebron saying,“ Look, we are your very flesh and blood!

( 5: 1) As for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, seemingly insignificant among the clans of Judah– from you a king will emerge who will rule over Israel on my behalf, one whose origins are in the distant past.

“ I am about to send my messenger, who will clear the way before me. Indeed, the Lord you are seeking will suddenly come to his temple, and the messenger of the covenant, whom you long for, is certainly coming,” says the LORD who rules over all.

However, the war was prolonged between the house of Saul and the house of David. David was becoming steadily stronger, while the house of Saul was becoming increasingly weaker.

For it is clear that our Lord is descended from Judah, yet Moses said nothing about priests in connection with that tribe.

Here is the LORD’s proclamation to my lord:“ Sit down at my right hand until I make your enemies your footstool!”The LORD extends your dominion from Zion. Rule in the midst of your enemies!

You prevail over all your enemies; your power is too great for those who hate you.

O LORD, the king rejoices in the strength you give; he takes great delight in the deliverance you provide.

When you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the trees, act decisively. For at that moment the LORD is going before you to strike down the army of the Philistines.”

Jehoshaphat’s power kept increasing. He built fortresses and storage cities throughout Judah.He had many supplies stored in the cities of Judah and an army of skilled warriors stationed in Jerusalem.These were their divisions by families: There were a thousand officers from Judah. Adnah the commander led 300,000 skilled warriors,Jehochanan the commander led 280,000,and Amasiah son of Zikri, who volunteered to serve the LORD, led 200,000 skilled warriors.From Benjamin, Eliada, a skilled warrior, led 200,000 men who were equipped with bows and shields,and Jehozabad led 180,000 trained warriors.These were the ones who served the king, besides those whom the king placed in the fortified cities throughout Judah.

And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet are too, and they will be tormented there day and night forever and ever.Then I saw a large white throne and the one who was seated on it; the earth and the heaven fled from his presence, and no place was found for them.And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne. Then books were opened, and another book was opened– the book of life. So the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to their deeds.The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and Death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each one was judged according to his deeds.Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death– the lake of fire.If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, that person was thrown into the lake of fire.
