He said this about Judah: LORD, hear Judah’s cry and bring him to his people. He fights for his cause with his own hands, but may you be a help against his foes.

And this he said about Judah:“ Hear, Lord, the cry of Judah; bring him to his people. With his own hands he defends his cause. Oh, be his help against his foes!”

Here’s what Moses said about Judah.“ Lord, listen to Judah cry out. Bring him to his people. By his own power he stands up for himself. Lord, help him fight against his enemies!”

And this he said of Judah:“ Hear, O Lord, the voice of Judah, and bring him in to his people. With your hands contend for him, and be a help against his adversaries.”

Moses said this about the tribe of Judah:“ O Lord, hear the cry of Judah and bring them together as a people. Give them strength to defend their cause; help them against their enemies!”

And this was regarding Judah; so he said:“ Hear, Lord, the voice of Judah, And bring him to his people. With his hands he contended for them, And may You be a help against his adversaries.”

And this he said of Judah:“ Hear, Lord, the voice of Judah, And bring him to his people; Let his hands be sufficient for him, And may You be a help against his enemies.”

And this is the blessing of Judah: and he said, Hear, Jehovah, the voice of Judah, And bring him in unto his people. With his hands he contended for himself; And thou shalt be a help against his adversaries.

And this[ is the blessing] of Judah: and he said, Hear, LORD, the voice of Judah, and bring him unto his people: let his hands be sufficient for him; and be thou an help[ to him] from his enemies.

And this is the blessing to Judah. He said, Listen, O LORD, to Judah’s voice, and bring him to his people. May his power be great, and may you help him against his foes.

This is for Judah. He said,“ Hear, Yahweh, the voice of Judah. Bring him in to his people. With his hands he contended for himself. You shall be a help against his adversaries.”

Judah, your brothers will praise you. Your hand will be on the necks of your enemies; your father’s sons will bow down to you.Judah is a young lion— my son, you return from the kill. He crouches; he lies down like a lion or a lioness— who dares to rouse him?The scepter will not depart from Judah or the staff from between his feet until he whose right it is comes and the obedience of the peoples belongs to him.He ties his donkey to a vine, and the colt of his donkey to the choice vine. He washes his clothes in wine and his robes in the blood of grapes.His eyes are darker than wine, and his teeth are whiter than milk.

Therefore the Lord does not rejoice over Israel’s young men and has no compassion on its fatherless and widows, for everyone is a godless evildoer, and every mouth speaks folly. In all this, his anger has not turned away, and his hand is still raised to strike.

I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have destroyed all your enemies before you. I will make a great name for you like that of the greatest on the earth.I will designate a place for my people Israel and plant them, so that they may live there and not be disturbed again. Evildoers will not continue to oppress them as they have doneever since the day I ordered judges to be over my people Israel. I will give you rest from all your enemies.“‘ The LORD declares to you: The LORD himself will make a house for you.When your time comes and you rest with your ancestors, I will raise up after you your descendant, who will come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom.

He wore a robe dipped in blood, and his name is called the Word of God.The armies that were in heaven followed him on white horses, wearing pure white linen.A sharp sword came from his mouth, so that he might strike the nations with it. He will rule them with an iron rod. He will also trample the winepress of the fierce anger of God, the Almighty.And he has a name written on his robe and on his thigh: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

After the death of Joshua, the Israelites inquired of the LORD,“ Who will be the first to fight for us against the Canaanites?”The LORD answered,“ Judah is to go. I have handed the land over to him.”Judah said to his brother Simeon,“ Come with me to my allotted territory, and let’s fight against the Canaanites. I will also go with you to your allotted territory.” So Simeon went with him.When Judah attacked, the LORD handed the Canaanites and Perizzites over to them. They struck down ten thousand men in Bezek.They found Adoni-bezek in Bezek, fought against him, and struck down the Canaanites and Perizzites.When Adoni-bezek fled, they pursued him, caught him, and cut off his thumbs and big toes.Adoni-bezek said,“ Seventy kings with their thumbs and big toes cut off used to pick up scraps under my table. God has repaid me for what I have done.” They brought him to Jerusalem, and he died there.

At that time, men came day after day to help David until there was a great army, like an army of God.

But bring here these enemies of mine, who did not want me to rule over them, and slaughter them in my presence.’”

I have taken refuge in the LORD. How can you say to me,“ Escape to the mountains like a bird!For look, the wicked string bows; they put their arrows on bowstrings to shoot from the shadows at the upright in heart.When the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?”The LORD is in his holy temple; the LORD— his throne is in heaven. His eyes watch; his gaze examines everyone.The LORD examines the righteous, but he hates the wicked and those who love violence.Let him rain burning coals and sulfur on the wicked; let a scorching wind be the portion in their cup.For the LORD is righteous; he loves righteous deeds. The upright will see his face.

He chose instead the tribe of Judah, Mount Zion, which he loved.

For he must reign until he puts all his enemies under his feet.

Happy is the one whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God,

May he send you help from the sanctuary and sustain you from Zion.

Then David inquired of the LORD:“ Should I attack the Philistines? Will you hand them over to me?” The LORD replied to David,“ Attack, for I will certainly hand the Philistines over to you.”

He chose David his servant and took him from the sheep pens;

All the tribes of Israel came to David at Hebron and said,“ Here we are, your own flesh and blood.

Bethlehem Ephrathah, you are small among the clans of Judah; one will come from you to be ruler over Israel for me. His origin is from antiquity, from ancient times.

“ See, I am going to send my messenger, and he will clear the way before me. Then the Lord you seek will suddenly come to his temple, the Messenger of the covenant you delight in— see, he is coming,” says the LORD of Armies.

During the long war between the house of Saul and the house of David, David was growing stronger and the house of Saul was becoming weaker.

Now it is evident that our Lord came from Judah, and Moses said nothing about that tribe concerning priests.

This is the declaration of the LORD to my Lord:“ Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies your footstool.”The LORD will extend your mighty scepter from Zion. Rule over your surrounding enemies.

Your hand will capture all your enemies; your right hand will seize those who hate you.

LORD, the king finds joy in your strength. How greatly he rejoices in your victory!

When you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the balsam trees, act decisively, for then the LORD will have gone out ahead of you to strike down the army of the Philistines.”

Jehoshaphat grew stronger and stronger. He built fortresses and storage cities in Judahand carried out great works in the towns of Judah. He had fighting men, valiant warriors, in Jerusalem.These are their numbers according to their ancestral families. For Judah, the commanders of thousands: Adnah the commander and three hundred thousand valiant warriors with him;next to him, Jehohanan the commander and two hundred eighty thousand with him;next to him, Amasiah son of Zichri, the volunteer of the LORD, and two hundred thousand valiant warriors with him;from Benjamin, Eliada, a valiant warrior, and two hundred thousand with him armed with bow and shield;next to him, Jehozabad and one hundred eighty thousand with him equipped for war.These were the ones who served the king, besides those he stationed in the fortified cities throughout all Judah.

The devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet are, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.Then I saw a great white throne and one seated on it. Earth and heaven fled from his presence, and no place was found for them.I also saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life, and the dead were judged according to their works by what was written in the books.Then the sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them; each one was judged according to their works.Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.And anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.
