「百姓曾拒絕這位摩西，說，『誰立你作我們的首領和審判官？』上帝卻藉著在荊棘中顯現的天使親自差遣他，立他為首領和拯救者。

忽然有耶和華的天使在荊棘裡的火焰中向他顯現。摩西看見荊棘雖然在燃燒，卻沒有被燒毀。摩西想：「我要過去看這個奇異的景象，荊棘為什麼沒有被燒掉呢？」耶和華上帝見他要上前觀看，就從荊棘叢中呼喚他說：「摩西！摩西！」摩西說：「我在這裡。」

大地和其中的萬物都屬於耶和華，世上的一切都是祂的。

關於死人復活的事，你們沒有讀過摩西書有關火中荊棘的記載嗎？上帝對摩西說，『我是亞伯拉罕的上帝，以撒的上帝，雅各的上帝。』

約瑟自己一桌，他的弟兄們一桌，那些和他們一起吃飯的埃及人一桌，因為埃及人厭惡和希伯來人同席。

「在至高之處，願榮耀歸於上帝！在地上，願平安臨到祂所喜悅的人！」

天地都屬於你，世界和其中的一切都是你造的。

不過，如果有人告訴你這些是獻給偶像的祭物，你為了那告訴你的人和良心的緣故，就不要吃。

「從但傳來敵人戰馬的嘶鳴，聲音震動大地。他們要來吞滅我們的土地和作物、城邑和居民。

你們快回去告訴父親，他兒子約瑟說，『上帝已經使我管理整個埃及，請他立刻來這裡。他可以帶著他的子孫、牛羊及一切所有住在歌珊。那裡離我很近，我可以奉養他，以免他和全家老少及僕婢牲畜都陷入絕境，因為還有五年的饑荒。』

我們所需要的，正是這樣一位聖潔無瑕、良善純全、遠離罪惡、超越諸天的大祭司。

於是，那些米甸商人經過的時候，他們就把約瑟從井裡拉上來，以二百二十克銀子的價錢把他賣給了以實瑪利人。這些商人把他帶到埃及去了。

就是我餓了，也不用告訴你，因為世界和其中的一切都是我的。

為了使我不至於因所受的啟示太大而自高，有一根「刺」在我身上，就是有撒旦的爪牙攻擊我，免得我驕傲自大。我曾三次祈求主叫這根刺離開我，但祂說：「我的恩典足夠你用，因為我的能力在人的軟弱上更顯得全備。」所以，我更喜歡誇耀自己的軟弱，好讓基督的能力蔭庇我。因此，為了基督的緣故，我欣然面對軟弱、凌辱、迫害、艱難和困苦，因為我軟弱的時候也正是我剛強的時候。

約瑟住在他的埃及主人家中，耶和華與他同在，使他凡事亨通。他主人看出耶和華與他同在，使他凡事亨通，

你父親的祝福高過亙古永存的峰巒，多如綿延無盡的群山，願這一切的祝福都臨到約瑟頭上，臨到這超越眾弟兄的人身上。

「過了四十年，在西奈山的曠野，上帝的天使在荊棘火焰中向摩西顯現。摩西見狀很驚奇，正要上前看個究竟，就聽見主說，『我是你祖先的上帝，是亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各的上帝。』摩西戰戰兢兢，不敢觀看。主又說，『脫下你腳上的鞋子，因為你所站的地方是聖地。

因為世界和其中的萬物都屬於主。

那些米甸人把約瑟帶到埃及後，把他賣給了法老的內臣——護衛長波提乏。
