I will send wasting famine against them, consuming pestilence and deadly plague; I will send against them the fangs of wild beasts, the venom of vipers that glide in the dust.

I will send them hunger. It will make them weak. I will send terrible sickness. I will send deadly plagues. I will send wild animals that will tear them apart. Snakes that glide through the dust will bite them.

永恆主發神諭說：『我派了四種類來罰他們：刀劍來殺戮，狗來拖拉，空中的飛鳥和地上的野獸來吞喫來毁滅。

我若出去到田間，就見有那些被刀劍刺殺的人！我若進入城裏，就見有那些因饑荒而生病的人！連神言人帶祭司在這地都忙於他們的生意經，也不知不覺！」』

就是勇士的利箭、同羅騰木的炭火！

我們的皮膚發燒如火爐，是因饑荒之燥熱而發的。

不怕幽暗中流行的瘟疫，或中午間滅人的毒病。

他們必死於致命的疫癘，無人舉哀，不得葬埋，等於糞土在地上。他們必被刀劍和饑荒滅盡；他們的屍體必給空中的飛鳥和地上的野獸做食物。

即使他們藏在迦密山頂，就是從那裏、我也必搜尋去捉出來；即使他們隱藏在海底、離開我眼前，就是從那裏、我也必吩咐蛇去咬他們。

『何況我打發刀劍、饑荒、惡獸、瘟疫這四樣嚴厲的判罰，去降給耶路撒冷，將人和牲口都從那裏剪除掉，豈不更加各自為救麼？主永恆主這麼說。

豺狼和喫奶的羊羔必一起同喫，獅子必喫禾藁、像牛一樣；蛇必以塵土為食物；在我聖山地遍處、這一切必都不傷人、不毁物：這是永恆主說的。』

在他前面有瘟疫流行着，隨着他腳跟、有高熱症發出。

他看安居為美好，以土地為可喜悅，便屈肩背重，成了苦工奴隸。

他的密雲、冰雹及火炭、都從他面前的光輝經過。永恆主在天上打雷；至高者發出他的聲音，冰雹及火炭。他射出他的箭來，使仇敵四散；他閃了閃電使他們潰亂。

那渴望着永恆主之日子的有禍啊！你們為甚麼要永恆主的日子呢？那日子究竟是黑暗，不是亮光呀：就像人躲避了獅子，卻遇見了熊；進了屋子，手靠着牆，卻給蛇咬了。

永恆主上帝對蛇說：『你既作了這事，就必受咒詛；比一切牲口一切野獸更重。你必用肚子走路，儘你一生的日子喫土。

你的仇敵窘迫你、你在被圍困被窘迫時、必喫你腹中的果子、就是永恆主你的上帝所賜給你的兒女的肉。

喫奶孩子的舌頭因乾渴而貼住上膛；孩童求餅，無人擘給他們。那素來喫爽口物的、如今在街上淒涼涼；那素來在朱紅褥子養大的、如今抱着糞堆睡。都因我眾民的罪孽比所多瑪的罪還大；雖無懲罰的手旋轉於所多瑪之上，它還在一眨眼間就被傾覆。錫安貴族素來比雪還純淨，比奶子還皎潔；他們軀體上比紅寶石還紅；其體格像藍寶石一樣。現在他們的面貌比煤炭還黑，以致在街上人都不認識；他們的皮縮攏到骨頭上，枯乾像木頭。被刀刺死的比被饑荒餓死的還好，因為前者雖被刺傷，還可以喫田間的出產。

永恆主必用癆病、熱病、炎症、惡性熱病、乾旱、旱風、霉爛、擊打你；它們必追趕你，直到你滅亡。
