Assemble the people— men, women and children, and the foreigners residing in your towns— so they can listen and learn to fear the Lord your God and follow carefully all the words of this law.

Gather the people together. Gather the men, women and children. Also bring together the outsiders living in your towns. Then they can listen and learn to have respect for the Lord your God. And they’ll be careful to obey all the words of this law.

昔爾在何烈、立於主爾天主前之日、主諭我曰、為我集民、使聽我言、俾生存於世之時學習敬畏我、又教子孫亦如是、或作學習敬畏我至於終身亦以教子

我今日所命爾斯言、當存於心、誨爾子女、或坐於室、或行於路、或寢或興、恆以此為訓、恆以此為訓或作俱當講諭

諸弟子皆來聽我之言、我將敬畏主之道訓誨爾曹、無論何人、若欲生存、羨慕遐齡、並望享福、即當捫舌勿出惡語、守口勿發誑言、離惡行善、務尋和平以從之、

主之律法純全、可以蘇醒人心、主之法度真實、可以使愚人有智慧、主之命令正直、可以快樂人之心志、主之誡命純潔、可以明亮人之眼目、主之道理清淨、存至永遠、主之律例、極確實且至公義、較金寶貴、較極多之精金更加寶貴、甘勝於蜜、較蜂房之蜜尤甘、主之僕人因此受警戒、守此便得大賞、

爾自幼識聖經、聖經能使爾有智慧、由信基督而得救、聖經皆由天主默示所作、有益於教誨督責、使人歸正、教人學義、使事天主之人、得以純全練達、能行諸善事、

以斯拉祈禱哭泣認罪、俯伏於天主殿前、有以色列男女孩提極大之會、集於其前、民皆痛哭、

爾當稽考諸經、爾以為其中有永生之道、而為我作證者、即此經也、

隱微之事屬主我之天主、明示之事屬我及我子孫、使我守此律法之諸言、直至永遠、
