我同你們立約宣誓，是恐怕你們中間有人、或男人或女人、或家族或族派、今日心裏偏離了永恆主我們的上帝，去事奉那些國的神；又恐怕你們中間有惡根、結出毒菜和苦堇為果實來，

此約之立、以免爾中男女、宗族支派、今日中心違棄我上帝耶和華、往事斯族之神、致有荼毒之根、生於爾中、

爾中之男女、宗族支派、其心毋違我上帝耶和華、而奉事他邦之上帝、爾中之人、其毒毋太苦、如茵蔯之根、

Make sure there is no man or woman, clan or tribe among you today whose heart turns away from the Lord our God to go and worship the gods of those nations; make sure there is no root among you that produces such bitter poison.

Make sure there isn’t a man or woman among your families or tribes who turns away from the Lord our God. No one must worship the gods of those nations. Make sure that kind of worship doesn’t spread like bitter poison through your whole community.

Beware lest there be among you a man or woman or clan or tribe whose heart is turning away today from the Lord our God to go and serve the gods of those nations. Beware lest there be among you a root bearing poisonous and bitter fruit,

I am making this covenant with you so that no one among you— no man, woman, clan, or tribe— will turn away from the Lord our God to worship these gods of other nations, and so that no root among you bears bitter and poisonous fruit.

Be sure there is no man, woman, clan, or tribe among you today whose heart turns away from the LORD our God to go and worship the gods of those nations. Be sure there is no root among you bearing poisonous and bitter fruit.

lest there should be among you man, woman, family, or tribe whose heart turns away today from Yahweh our God, to go to serve the gods of those nations; lest there should be among you a root that produces bitter poison;

當謹慎、恐爾中有失天主之恩者、恐有毒根滋長、妨礙爾眾、使多人染穢污、

爾當謹慎、毋任爾心迷惑背逆主、奉事崇拜異邦之神、恐主震怒爾曹、使天不降雨、使地不產物、使爾在主所賜爾之美地滅亡甚速、

爾中若有先知或作夢者出、預言異兆奇事、所言之異兆奇事有驗、遂教爾曰、我儕莫若從事異邦之神、異邦之神或作別神下同此神即爾素所未識者、毋聽其先知或作夢者之言、蓋主爾之天主試爾、欲知爾盡心盡意愛主爾天主否、惟爾當順從敬畏主爾之天主、守其誡、聽其命、奉事之、親慕之、惟彼先知或作夢者、既以言教爾違逆主爾之天主、即導爾出伊及贖爾於為奴之地者、誘爾離主爾天主所命爾行之道、則必殺之、除爾中之惡、○如爾同母之兄弟、或爾子女、或爾愛妻、或爾密友、暗誘爾曰、我儕莫若往事異邦之神、此神即爾與爾祖素所未識者、即爾四周諸國之民所事之神、或離爾近、或離爾遠、自地此極至地彼極、爾毋從之、毋聽之、爾目毋顧惜之、毋矜恤之、毋隱其尤、必殺毋赦、殺之之時、爾先擊之、民後擊之、當以石擊之死、因欲誘爾違逆主爾之天主、即自伊及爾為奴之地導爾出者、以色列眾聞之必畏懼、不復行若是之惡事於爾中、○主爾之天主所賜爾居之諸邑、爾若聞一邑中有匪類出、誘其邑之民曰、我儕莫若往事異邦之神、即爾素所未識之神、

故萬有之主以色列之天主如是云、我必使斯民食茵蔯、飲苦水、

磐巖之上、豈能使馬奔馳、豈能用牛耕耘乎、爾判斷不秉公義、顛倒是非、使人受屈苦、若食荼草茵蔯、

兄弟乎、爾當謹慎、恐爾中有人、懷不信之惡心、違背永生天主、

我見爾如在苦膽中、為惡所繫也、

在爾曹間、在主爾之天主所賜爾無論何邑中、如有男女作惡於主前、違背主約、往奉事崇拜異邦之神、或日月、或天象星辰、為我所禁者、原文作非我所命者人告爾、爾聞之、則必詳細考察、如得其實、果有此可惡之事行於以色列中、則必將行此惡之男或女、攜於邑門、以石擊死此男或女、當殺之人、必憑二三人為證殺之、不可憑一人為證殺之、殺之之時、證人先擊之、眾民後擊之、如是、除惡於爾中、○

斯民出言惟虛、立盟妄誓、故災罰滋生、如茵蔯生於田隴、
