“我不但與你們立這約，起這誓；

『我不單同你們立這約、宣這誓；

此約與誓、我不第與爾曹立也、

我立此盟約、不第與爾曹、

此約此誓我不第與爾曹立、

I am making this covenant, with its oath, not only with you

I’m making this covenant and the promise that goes along with it. I’m making this covenant with you.

It is not with you alone that I am making this sworn covenant,

“ But you are not the only ones with whom I am making this covenant with its curses.

I am making this covenant and this oath not only with you,

“ Now it is not with you alone that I am making this covenant and this oath,

“ I make this covenant and this oath, not with you alone,

Neither with you only do I make this covenant and this oath,

I am making this covenant and this oath not only with you,

Neither with you only do I make this covenant and this oath;

It is not with you alone that I am making this covenant by oath,

Neither do I make this covenant and this oath with you only,

“看哪，日子将到，我要与以色列家和犹大家另立新的约。这是耶和华说的。这约不像我拉着他们祖宗的手，领他们出埃及地的时候与他们所立的约。我虽作他们的丈夫，他们却背了我的约。这是耶和华说的。那些日子以后，我与以色列家所立的约是这样：我要将我的律法放在他们里面，写在他们心上。我要作他们的上帝，他们要作我的子民。这是耶和华说的。他们各人不再教导自己的邻舍和弟兄说：‘你该认识耶和华’，因为他们从最小的到最大的都必认识我。我要赦免他们的罪孽，不再记得他们的罪恶。这是耶和华说的。”

第一个约若没有瑕疵，就无须寻求第二个约了。所以上帝指责他们说：“主说，看哪，日子将到，我要与以色列家和犹大家另立新的约；不像我拉着他们祖宗的手领他们出埃及地的时候，与他们所立的约；因为他们不恒心守我的约，所以我也不理他们；这是主说的。主又说：那些日子以后，我与以色列家所立的约是这样：我要将我的律法放在他们的心思里，写在他们的心上；我要作他们的上帝，他们要作我的子民。他们各人不用教导自己的乡亲和自己的弟兄，说：你要认识主；因为从最小的到最大的，他们都要认识我。我要宽恕他们的不义，绝不再记得他们的罪恶。”
