to confirm you this day as his people, that he may be your God as he promised you and as he swore to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Today he wants to show you that you are his people and that he is your God. That’s what he promised to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

that he may establish you today as his people, and that he may be your God, as he promised you, and as he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.

By entering into the covenant today, he will establish you as his people and confirm that he is your God, just as he promised you and as he swore to your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

我要与你，以及你世世代代的后裔坚立我的约，成为永远的约，是要作你和你后裔的上帝。

我要以你们为我的百姓，我也要作你们的上帝。我除去埃及人加给你们的劳役，你们就知道我是耶和华你们的上帝。

你若谨守耶和华—你上帝的诫命，遵行他的道，他必照他向你所起的誓立你为自己神圣的子民。

“看哪，日子将到，我要与以色列家和犹大家另立新的约。这是耶和华说的。这约不像我拉着他们祖宗的手，领他们出埃及地的时候与他们所立的约。我虽作他们的丈夫，他们却背了我的约。这是耶和华说的。那些日子以后，我与以色列家所立的约是这样：我要将我的律法放在他们里面，写在他们心上。我要作他们的上帝，他们要作我的子民。这是耶和华说的。

其实他们所羡慕的是一个更美的，就是在天上的家乡。所以，上帝并不因他们称他为上帝而觉得羞耻，因为他已经为他们预备了一座城。

“因为你是属于耶和华—你上帝神圣的子民；耶和华—你的上帝从地面上的万民中拣选你，作自己宝贵的子民。

耶和华今日照他所应许你的，也认你为他宝贵的子民，叫你谨守他的一切诫命，要使你得称赞、美名、尊荣，超乎他所造的万国之上，并且照他所应许的，使你归耶和华—你的上帝为神圣的子民。”

他们要作我的子民，我要作他们的上帝。

你要寄居在这地，我必与你同在，赐福给你，因为我要将这一切的地都赐给你和你的后裔。我必坚定我向你父亲亚伯拉罕所起的誓。我要使你的后裔增多，好像天上的星，又要将这一切的地赐给你的后裔，并且地上的万国都必因你的后裔得福，

看哪，耶和华站在梯子上面，说：“我是耶和华—你祖父亚伯拉罕的上帝，以撒的上帝。你现在躺卧之地，我要将它赐给你和你的后裔。你的后裔必像地上的尘沙，必向东西南北开展；地上万族必因你和你的后裔得福。看哪，我必与你同在，无论你往哪里去，我必保佑你，领你归回这地。我总不离弃你，直到我实现了对你所说的话。”
