together with your children and your wives, and the foreigners living in your camps who chop your wood and carry your water.

Your children and wives are here with you too. So are the outsiders living in your camps. They chop your wood and carry your water.

your dependents, your wives, and the resident aliens in your camps who cut your wood and draw your water—

your little ones, your wives, and the stranger who is within your camps, from the one who gathers your firewood to the one who draws your water,

your little ones and your wives— also the stranger who is in your camp, from the one who cuts your wood to the one who draws your water—

your little ones, your wives, and thy sojourner that is in the midst of thy camps, from the hewer of thy wood unto the drawer of thy water;

your children, your wives, and the foreigners in your camps who cut your wood and draw your water—

Your little ones, your wives, and thy stranger that[ is] in thy camp, from the hewer of thy wood unto the drawer of thy water:

your little ones, your wives, and the foreigners who are in the middle of your camps, from the one who cuts your wood to the one who draws your water,

A mixed multitude also went up with them, and flocks and herds– a very large number of cattle.

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female– for all of you are one in Christ Jesus.

“ When a foreigner lives with you and wants to observe the Passover to the LORD, all his males must be circumcised, and then he may approach and observe it, and he will be like one who is born in the land– but no uncircumcised person may eat of it.The same law will apply to the person who is native-born and to the foreigner who lives among you.”

Now the mixed multitude who were among them craved more desirable foods, and so the Israelites wept again and said,“ If only we had meat to eat!

Here there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all and in all.

The leaders then added,“ Let them live.” So they became woodcutters and water carriers for the whole community, as the leaders had decided.Joshua summoned the Gibeonites and said to them,“ Why did you trick us by saying,‘ We live far away from you,’ when you really live nearby?Now you are condemned to perpetual servitude as woodcutters and water carriers for the house of my God.”They said to Joshua,“ It was carefully reported to your subjects how the LORD your God commanded Moses his servant to assign you the whole land and to destroy all who live in the land from before you. Because of you we were terrified we would lose our lives, so we did this thing.So now we are in your power. Do to us what you think is good and appropriate.Joshua did as they said; he kept the Israelites from killing themand that day made them woodcutters and water carriers for the community and for the altar of the LORD at the divinely chosen site.( They continue in that capacity to this very day.)

but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God. On that day you must not do any work, you, your son, your daughter, your male slave, your female slave, your ox, your donkey, any other animal, or the foreigner who lives with you, so that your male and female slaves, like yourself, may have rest.
