Moses alone, however, shall approach the Lord, but they shall not approach, nor shall the people come up with him.”Then Moses came and reported to the people all the words of the Lord and all the ordinances; and all the people answered with one voice and said,“ All the words which the Lord has spoken we will do!”And Moses wrote down all the words of the Lord. Then he got up early in the morning, and built an altar at the foot of the mountain with twelve memorial stones for the twelve tribes of Israel.And he sent young men of the sons of Israel, and they offered burnt offerings and sacrificed bulls as peace offerings to the Lord.Moses took half of the blood and put it in basins, and the other half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar.Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read it as the people listened; and they said,“ All that the Lord has spoken we will do, and we will be obedient!”So Moses took the blood and sprinkled it on the people, and said,“ Behold the blood of the covenant, which the Lord has made with you in accordance with all these words.”

not like the covenant which I made with their fathers on the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, although I was a husband to them,” declares the Lord.

“ Hear the words of this covenant, and speak to the men of Judah and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem;

Remember the day you stood before the Lord your God at Horeb, when the Lord said to me,‘ Assemble the people to Me, that I may have them hear My words so that they may learn to fear Me all the days that they live on the earth, and that they may teach their children.’

So be careful yourselves, that you do not forget the covenant of the Lord your God which He made with you, and make for yourselves a carved image in the form of anything against which the Lord your God has commanded you.

So He declared to you His covenant which He commanded you to perform, that is, the Ten Commandments; and He wrote them on two tablets of stone.
