我的子民播種麥子，卻收割荊棘；辛勤耕耘，卻一無所獲。他們必因耶和華的烈怒而收穫羞辱。」

誰栽種了葡萄園還沒有享受過園中的果子？他可以回家去，以免他陣亡了，別人享受他園中的果子。誰訂了親還沒有迎娶？他可以回家去，以免他陣亡了，別人娶他的未婚妻。』

他們的財物必遭搶掠，家園必淪為廢墟。他們建造房屋，卻不能住在裡面；栽種葡萄園，卻喝不到葡萄酒。

你撒種，卻不得收割；你榨橄欖，卻無油抹身；你踩葡萄，卻無酒可喝。

他們要建造房屋，安然居住，栽種葡萄園，吃園中的果子。他們建的房屋再不會被別人居住，他們種的果實再不會被別人享用。我的子民必像樹木一樣長壽，我揀選的人必長享自己親手勞碌的成果。

他們咒詛、撒謊、兇殺、偷竊、通姦，為所欲為，血案纍纍。

我親耳聽到萬軍之耶和華說：「許多富麗堂皇的房屋必荒廢，無人居住。三十畝葡萄園只產二十升酒，二百公斤種子只產二十公斤糧食。」

被囚者得到安寧，聽不見監工的斥責。
