At midday you will grope about like a blind person in the dark. You will be unsuccessful in everything you do; day after day you will be oppressed and robbed, with no one to rescue you.

Even at noon you will have to feel your way around like a blind person in the dark. You won’t have success in anything you do. Day after day you will be robbed and treated badly. No one will be able to save you.

and you shall grope at noonday, as the blind grope in darkness, and you shall not prosper in your ways. And you shall be only oppressed and robbed continually, and there shall be no one to help you.

You will grope around in broad daylight like a blind person groping in the darkness, but you will not find your way. You will be oppressed and robbed continually, and no one will come to save you.

我們像盲人一樣沿牆摸索，像無眼睛的人一樣探路。我們在中午也跌跌撞撞，如同走在晚上。我們在強壯人當中如同死人。

他們白天遇到黑暗，午間摸索如在夜晚。

以色列人又做耶和華視為惡的事，耶和華就把他們交在非利士人手中四十年。

耶和華把他們交在統治夏瑣的迦南王耶賓手中。耶賓王的將軍叫西西拉，住在夏羅設。耶賓王擁有九百輛鐵戰車，他殘暴地壓迫以色列人二十年。以色列人向耶和華呼求。

後來，以色列人又做耶和華視為惡的事，耶和華就把他們交在米甸人手中，受他們統治七年。米甸人勢力強盛，以色列人只好躲進山裡，藏在洞穴和營寨中。每當他們撒種的時候，米甸人、亞瑪力人及東方人就前來進犯，在他們境內安營，摧毀他們遠至迦薩一帶的莊稼，不給他們留下任何糧食，也不留下一隻羊、一頭牛或驢。入侵者帶著牲畜和帳篷像蝗蟲一樣湧來，人和駱駝不計其數，摧毀了整個地區。以色列人因米甸人的入侵而極其貧乏，就呼求耶和華。

以色列人受摩押王伊磯倫統治十八年。

那年，非利士人和亞捫人擊垮了以色列人，壓迫基列地區、約旦河東亞摩利境內的以色列人達十八年。

耶和華因此向祂的子民發怒，厭惡他們，使他們落在列邦的手中，受敵人的轄制。他們的敵人壓迫他們，奴役他們。

因為我們的罪過，這地方的豐富出產都歸給了那些你派來統管我們的王。他們隨意統管我們和我們的牲畜。我們生活在極大的苦難中。

然而，即使我們所傳的福音被遮蔽，也是在那些滅亡的人當中被遮蔽。那些不信的人是被這世界的神弄瞎了心眼，以致看不見基督榮耀的福音之光。基督是上帝的本像。

「我要使人們災難臨頭，以致他們行路像瞎子，因為他們得罪了我。他們的血必被倒出，如同灰塵；他們的屍體必被丟棄，如同糞便。

弟兄姊妹，我不願意你們對以下這奧祕一無所知，還自以為聰明。這奧祕就是：雖然有些以色列人的心剛硬，但等到外族人得救的數目滿了以後，

願他們眼目昏暗，無法看見；願他們哆哆嗦嗦，直不起腰來。求你把烈怒傾倒在他們身上，將怒氣撒向他們。

那時，以色列全境找不到一個鐵匠，這是因為非利士人的禁令，以免希伯來人製造刀槍。以色列人都要到非利士的鐵匠那裡去磨鋤、犁、斧和鏟。磨鋤或犁要花八克銀子，磨三齒叉、斧頭或趕畜棒要花四克銀子。所以在交戰的日子，除了掃羅和約拿單外，其他以色列人手上都沒有刀槍。

非利士人調兵遣將，要攻打以色列。他們有三萬輛戰車和六千騎兵，步兵多如海邊的沙。大軍來到伯·亞文以東的密抹，駐紮在那裡。以色列人看見敵軍壓境，情勢危急，紛紛躲進山洞、叢林、石穴、地洞和坑裡。有些希伯來人過了約旦河，逃到迦得和基列。但掃羅仍然留在吉甲，跟隨他的人都害怕得發抖。

他們在無光的黑暗中摸索，像醉漢般踉踉蹌蹌。

「然而，他們不順從你，背叛你，把你的律法拋在背後，又殺掉勸誡他們歸向你的眾先知，大大褻瀆了你。於是你把他們交在欺壓他們的仇敵手中。他們在患難中向你呼求，你就從天上垂聽，懷著豐盛的憐憫賜給他們拯救者，把他們從仇敵手中拯救出來。可是，他們得享平安後，又在你面前作惡，於是你離棄他們，把他們交在敵人手中，使敵人統治他們。他們回轉向你呼求，你就從天上垂聽，你一次次地懷著憐憫拯救他們。你警告他們，要使他們遵守你的律法，但他們行事狂傲，不聽從你的誡命，干犯你的典章。人若遵行這典章就必存活，但他們背棄你，頑固不化，不肯聽從。

這該怎麼說呢？以色列人努力追求，卻一無所得，只有蒙揀選的人得到了，其他的人都變得頑固不化。正如聖經上說：「上帝使他們至今心智昏迷，眼睛看不見，耳朵聽不到。」大衛也說：「願他們的宴席成為網羅、陷阱、絆腳石，給他們帶來報應；願他們眼目昏暗，無法看見，永遠彎腰駝背。」

奴僕做了我們的主人，無人從他們手中解救我們。

你和他們一起去行潔淨禮，並由你替他們付費，讓他們可以剃頭，好叫眾人知道你嚴守律法，循規蹈矩，關於你的傳聞都是假的。

此情此景使我們黯然神傷，淚眼模糊。
