Then Moses and the priests, who are Levites, spoke to all the Israelites. They said,“ Israel, be quiet! Listen! You have now become the people of the Lord your God.

Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.Dear friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against your soul.

Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with mennor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light( for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth)

But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you have come to obey from your heart the pattern of teaching that has now claimed your allegiance.You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.

The Lord your God commands you this day to follow these decrees and laws; carefully observe them with all your heart and with all your soul.You have declared this day that the Lord is your God and that you will walk in obedience to him, that you will keep his decrees, commands and laws— that you will listen to him.And the Lord has declared this day that you are his people, his treasured possession as he promised, and that you are to keep all his commands.

But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.
