“以色列人哪，現在你們要聽我向來教訓你們遵行的律例和典章，使你們可以活著，可以進去得著耶和華你們列祖的神賜給你們的地作產業。我吩咐你們的話，你們不可增加，也不可減少，好使你們遵守我吩咐你們的，就是耶和華你們的神的命令。耶和華因巴力．毗珥的事所行的，你們都親眼看見了；所有跟隨巴力．毗珥的人，耶和華你們的神都從你們中間消滅了。

因為凡是遵守全部律法的，只要在一條上失足，就違犯所有的了。

“耶和華你的神今日吩咐你遵行這些律例和典章，所以你要一心一意謹守遵行。

你們要謹守遵行我今日在你們的面前頒布的一切律例和典章。”

他說：“是的，卻還不如聽神的道而遵守的人有福。”

你們若行我所吩咐你們的，就是我的朋友了。

此外，弟兄們，我們在主耶穌裡求你們，勸你們，你們既然接受了我們的教訓，知道應該怎樣行事為人，並且怎樣討神喜悅，就要照你們現在所行的更進一步。我們憑著主耶穌傳給你們的是甚麼命令，你們是知道的。
