When you are harvesting in your field and you overlook a sheaf, do not go back to get it. Leave it for the foreigner, the fatherless and the widow, so that the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.

When you are gathering crops in your field, you might leave some grain behind by mistake. Don’t go back to get it. Leave it behind for outsiders and widows. Leave it for children whose fathers have died. Then the Lord your God will bless you in everything you do.

矜恤貧人、如貸金於耶和華、所給者必償。

使無恆業之利未人、以及賓旅孤寡、群至爾家、食而果腹、則凡爾所為、可望爾上帝耶和華錫嘏。

有散財而增富厚、有惜財而致貧乏、博施濟眾、必有贏餘、潤澤人者、必受潤澤、

饑者食之、貧者寓之、裸者衣之、戚屬遭難、毋掩面而不睹。則爾之光明、必如平旦、爾之沉痾、一朝頓失、爾之仁義、護爾於前、我之榮光、衛爾於後。如爾待人不虐遇、不譏訕、不讒毀、則爾呼籲我、我應甚速、若在左右、如爾大發仁心、賑饑濟困、則爾之暗、可變為光、赫然若日方中。我恆導爾以行、雖至槁壞、必若園囿、源泉不竭、灌溉有資、俾爾果腹、筋骸堅固。

惟設饌、請貧乏、廢疾、跛者、瞽者、則爾福矣、蓋彼不能報爾、而義人復生時、爾得報也、○

既畢其事、則於爾上帝耶和華前告曰、所當獻之物、已出之我家、給於利未人及賓旅孤寡、循爾所命、無所干犯、並弗遺忘所當獻之物、

眷顧貧乏者福兮、彼遭患難、耶和華救之兮、保護其生、亨通斯土、勿使敵人得遂其謀兮、雖病卧床笫、耶和華扶翼之、病劇之時、治其衾裯兮、

慷慨者所為、其量寛宏、足以自立、

既撲橄欖樹、毋庸復撲、摘葡萄果、毋得再摘、所遺者、必留於賓旅孤寡、

彼散財兮、彼濟貧兮、其義永存、其角崢嶸兮、

余嘗曰、少稼少穡、多稼多穡、各隨其願、毋憂慮、毋勉強、上帝所愛者、樂助也。上帝能加恩與爾、令爾恆足、萬善備於己、

嗣後耶和華錫嘏於約百、福祉較昔尤盛、獲羊一萬四千、駝六千、牛一千耦、牝驢一千、

人有恆產、見兄弟匱乏、而不開誠施與、烏能愛上帝哉、小子相愛、勿口尚虛詞、必行期實踐、由此可知、我從真理、則於主前、我心亦安、

予人則予爾、將以大量、搖撼使實、充滿溢外、納爾懷中、蓋爾量度若何、則見度亦如是、○

爾當予之、賙給之時、心無不悅、蓋為此故、爾之上帝耶和華、必於凡所為錫嘏於爾。

貧者所欲我施之、嫠者所望我遂之。簞食之微、不敢自食、亦必與孤子共。我自幼時、撫人之孤、助人之嫠。我見流民無衣、貧者無服、衣以羊毛、俾暖其體、而祝謝我、雖在公庭、左右環立、我未嘗鞭扑孤子。如我有此、願我肩脫於缺盆骨、臂脫於羊矢骨。

凌侮人者陷於罪戾、矜憫貧者可納福祉。

敵爾者、愛之、善視之、借不望償、則爾賞大矣、爾將為至上者之子、蓋彼仁及辜恩不善之人、

爾手所握之禾、少抽數莖、故遺於地、容拾毋叱。
