Do not take advantage of a hired worker who is poor and needy, whether that worker is a fellow Israelite or a foreigner residing in one of your towns.

Don’t take advantage of any hired worker who is poor and needy. That applies to your own people. It also applies to outsiders living in one of your towns.

“ You shall not oppress a hired worker who is poor and needy, whether he is one of your brothers or one of the sojourners who are in your land within your towns.

“ Never take advantage of poor and destitute laborers, whether they are fellow Israelites or foreigners living in your towns.

“ Do not oppress a hired worker who is poor and needy, whether one of your Israelite brothers or one of the resident aliens in a town in your land.

“ You shall not exploit a hired worker who is poor and needy, whether he is one of your countrymen or one of your strangers who are in your land in your towns.

“ You shall not oppress a hired servant who is poor and needy, whether one of your brethren or one of the aliens who is in your land within your gates.

Thou shalt not oppress a hired servant that is poor and needy, whether he be of thy brethren, or of thy sojourners that are in thy land within thy gates:

“ Do not oppress a hired hand who is poor and needy, whether one of your brothers or one of the foreigners residing within a town in your land.

You must not oppress a lowly and poor servant, whether one from among your fellow Israelites or from the resident foreigners who are living in your land and villages.

You shall not oppress a hired servant who is poor and needy, whether he is one of your brothers or one of the foreigners who are in your land within your gates.

萬有之主耶和華曰、我必涖臨、降災於爾、凡巫覡行淫之子、妄誓之輩、奪傭人之值、虐遇孤寡、使賓旅不得伸其枉屈、而不敬畏我者、必速降以罰。

虐遇貧乏者、侮造化之主、矜憫窮民者則尊之。

虐貧者適以富之、祐富人適以貧之。

爾居撒馬利亞山、若巴山之牛、虐遇貧窮、挾制困乏、索酒縱飲者、今聽我言、

貧者蒙灰、彼猶貪得之、人已遭困乏、更使迷途、父子聚麀、瀆我聖名、

如我不公以涖下、使彼抱屈、上帝鞫我、則我何詞以對。我主我僕、何非父母所生、上帝所造。

使彼裸體從其後、枵腹負其禾、歸至室渴甚、又使之醡油製酒。

如宗族匱乏、家日益落、當周其急、使之偕居、若柔遠人然。宗族偕居、勿取其利、宜畏爾之上帝。貸金與粟、毋圖其利、吾耶和華爾之上帝、導爾出埃及、以迦南賜爾、爾必以我為上帝。如宗族貧乏、自鬻於爾、勿視若奴、當偕爾居、如傭人旅人然、供爾役事、以待禧年、屆期、彼及子女、必去爾家、仍歸其所、復得前人遺業。昔我導以色列族出埃及、為我臣僕、故不得鬻為賤役、勿治以嚴、宜畏爾之上帝。

如爾同儕、希伯來人、或男或女、自鬻於爾、六年服役、越至七年、必釋之。既釋之、毋使徒手而去。必由羊群穀場酒醡、以為給予、惟取豐腆、循爾上帝耶和華錫嘏於爾。爾當憶念、昔在埃及、爾為人役、乃爾上帝耶和華贖爾、故我以此諭爾。如僕自言、曾為主厚待、故愛厥主、與主眷聚、不忍舍去、則必取鑽、貫耳於門旁、俾僕恆事其主、爾之待婢、亦必如是。僕既事爾六年、則值倍於傭人、故釋之時、毋以為難、如是爾上帝耶和華、於凡所為、必錫嘏於爾。○

斯邑之人、藐視父母、凌侮旅人、強暴孤寡。

貧者所有、爾尚貪之、使窮乏之民、俱就渝亡、今聽我言、

居其家、所供者飲食之、蓋工得其值、宜也、勿由此室移彼室、
