Do not take advantage of a hired worker who is poor and needy, whether that worker is a fellow Israelite or a foreigner residing in one of your towns.

Don’t take advantage of any hired worker who is poor and needy. That applies to your own people. It also applies to outsiders living in one of your towns.

“ You shall not oppress a hired worker who is poor and needy, whether he is one of your brothers or one of the sojourners who are in your land within your towns.

“ Never take advantage of poor and destitute laborers, whether they are fellow Israelites or foreigners living in your towns.

“ Do not oppress a hired worker who is poor and needy, whether one of your Israelite brothers or one of the resident aliens in a town in your land.

“ You shall not exploit a hired worker who is poor and needy, whether he is one of your countrymen or one of your strangers who are in your land in your towns.

“ You shall not oppress a hired servant who is poor and needy, whether one of your brethren or one of the aliens who is in your land within your gates.

Thou shalt not oppress a hired servant that is poor and needy, whether he be of thy brethren, or of thy sojourners that are in thy land within thy gates:

You must not oppress a lowly and poor servant, whether one from among your fellow Israelites or from the resident foreigners who are living in your land and villages.

萬軍之耶和華說：「我要來到你們當中施行審判，速速作證指控那些行邪術的、通姦的、起假誓的、克扣工人薪水的、欺壓寡婦孤兒的、冤枉異鄉人的，以及不敬畏我的。

欺壓窮人等於侮辱造物主，憐憫貧弱就是尊敬造物主。

靠壓榨窮人斂財和送禮給富人的，都必窮困潦倒。

住在撒瑪利亞山上的巴珊肥母牛啊，你們要聽！你們壓榨貧寒人，欺凌窮苦人，又使喚丈夫倒酒暢飲。

他們踐踏窮人如同踐踏地上的塵土，使卑微的人無處伸冤；父子同淫一女，褻瀆我的聖名。

我的僕婢告我，我也會講公道，否則上帝追究，我怎麼辦？祂審問我，我如何回答？祂創造了我，豈不也創造了他們？豈不是同一位使我們在母腹中成胎？

使他們赤身露體地流浪，餓著肚子扛禾捆。他們在惡人的橄欖林中榨油，口乾舌燥地在酒池踩踏。

「如果你們的同胞生活日益貧窮，難以維生，你們要像照顧外族人和寄居者一樣照顧他的生活，讓他住在你們當中。你們不可從中謀利，要敬畏上帝，讓他住在你們當中。你們借錢給他，不可收取利息；借糧給他，不可謀利。我是你們的上帝耶和華。我曾經帶領你們離開埃及，為要把迦南賜給你們，並做你們的上帝。「如果你們的同胞窮得把自己賣給你們，不可把他當作奴隸，要待他像雇工和寄居者一樣。他要為你工作到禧年。到了禧年，他和孩子們便可以離開你們，回到自己的宗族和祖業。因為以色列人是我的僕人，是我從埃及帶出來的，所以他們不可賣身為奴。你們也不可苛待他們，要敬畏你們的上帝。

「如果你們的希伯來同胞，不論男女，賣身給你們做奴隸，他們要服侍你們六年，到第七年，你們要給他們自由。你們不可讓他們空手離去，要慷慨地把你們的上帝耶和華賜給你們的羊、五穀和酒分給他們。要記住，你們曾在埃及做奴隸，你們的上帝耶和華拯救了你們。所以，我今天吩咐你們這樣做。如果你們的奴隸因為愛你們和你們的家人，與你們相處融洽，不願意離去，你們就要讓他靠在門上，用錐子在他耳朵上扎個洞，他便終身成為你們的奴隸。對待婢女也要這樣。你們釋放奴隸時，不要不情願，因為他們服侍你們六年，所做的是普通雇工的兩倍。而且，你們的上帝耶和華也會在你們所做的一切事上賜福給你們。

他們輕慢父母，壓迫寄居者，欺負孤兒寡婦。

踐踏貧民、滅絕窮人的人啊，你們要聽！

不要搬來搬去，要固定住在一家，接受那家的款待，因為工人理應得到工錢。
