『人娶了妻、做了那女人的丈夫以後、若因發現妻子有醜事，以致妻子在他眼中不蒙恩愛，他便給她寫了離婚書交在她手中，打發她離開他的家；

“人若娶妻以后，见她有什么不合理的事，不喜悦她，就可以写休书交在她手中，打发她离开夫家。

“人若娶妻，作了她的丈夫，发现她有不合宜的事不喜欢她，而写休书交在她手中，打发她离开夫家，

If a man marries a woman who becomes displeasing to him because he finds something indecent about her, and he writes her a certificate of divorce, gives it to her and sends her from his house,

Suppose a man marries a woman. But later he decides he doesn’t like her. He finds something shameful about her. So he gives her a letter of divorce and sends her away from his house.

“ When a man takes a wife and marries her, if then she finds no favor in his eyes because he has found some indecency in her, and he writes her a certificate of divorce and puts it in her hand and sends her out of his house, and she departs out of his house,

“ Suppose a man marries a woman but she does not please him. Having discovered something wrong with her, he writes a document of divorce, hands it to her, and sends her away from his house.

法利賽人就對耶穌說：『那麼摩西為甚麼囑咐人給離婚書便可以離婚呢？』耶穌對他們說：『是為着你們的硬心、摩西才准許離婚的；從起初卻不是這樣。我告訴你們，凡離棄妻子，同另外一個人結婚的，若不是為了淫亂的緣故，就是犯姦淫。』

並罰他一百錠銀子、交給那少女，因為他發表壞名聲的事毁謗以色列的一個處女；那女子仍要歸他為妻，儘他一生的日子、他都不能把她打發走。

『人若娶妻，進去找她之後、就不愛她，

她看見為了轉離正道的以色列犯了姦淫的緣故，我把她離出去，並且將離婚書給了她；然而她奸詐的妹妹猶大還不懼怕；她也去行淫。

他若另娶一個，那原來女子的喫食、和遮身之物、跟好合之事、仍然不可減少。

永恆主這麼說：你們母親的離婚書、我用來送她走的證件、在哪裏呢？或是說：哪一個是我的債主，我把你們賣給他呢？看哪，你們被賣、是因你們的罪孽；你們的母親被送走、是因你們的過犯。

那麼、和她同寢的那人就要把五十錠銀子給那少女的父親；那少女便要歸那人為妻，因為他已經玷辱了她；儘他一生的日子、他都不能把她打發走。

他們說：『摩西是准人寫離婚書去離婚的。』耶穌對他們說：『是為着你們的硬心摩西才寫了這條誡命給你們的。但從創造之初，「上帝造人是有男有女的」；「因此人才離開父親和母親，同他的妻子膠結。二人就成為一體」；這一來，他們就不再是兩個，而是一體了。所以上帝所配偶的，人不可分開。』在屋子裏，門徒又問他這事。耶穌對他們說：『凡離棄妻子，同另一個人結婚的，就是犯姦淫辜負了妻子；妻子若離棄丈夫，同另一個人結婚，也是犯姦淫。』

這以後的丈夫也不愛她，也給她寫了離婚書，交在她手中，打發她離開他的家；或者娶她為妻的這以後的丈夫死了；

縱使已經離開了，就該安於不嫁，否則要跟丈夫復和；丈夫呢、也不要離棄妻子。對其餘的人呢、是我說，不是主說的：若有弟兄有不信主的妻子，而妻子又贊同和他同住，他就不要離棄妻子。

因為永恆主以色列之上帝說：『我恨惡休妻的事，也恨惡人以強暴取得妻子，萬軍之永恆主說。故此要謹守你們的靈性，不可有不忠實的行為。』

她丈夫約瑟是個義人，不願意公然羞辱她，只有意思要祕密解退她。

『又有話說：「無論誰離棄妻子，總要給她離婚書。」但是我告訴你們，凡離棄妻子的，除非為了淫亂的理由，便是叫她受姦污；無論誰同被離棄的婦人結婚，就是犯姦淫。

『凡離棄妻子、同別人結婚的、是犯姦淫；同男人所離棄的人結婚的、也是犯姦淫。

『人若有兩個妻子，一個是所愛的，一個是所不愛的；兩個都給他生了兒子：所愛的和所不愛的都生了；但長子卻是出於所不愛的；
