For they did not come to meet you with bread and water on your way when you came out of Egypt, and they hired Balaam son of Beor from Pethor in Aram Naharaim to pronounce a curse on you.

The Ammonites and Moabites didn’t come to meet you with food and water on your way out of Egypt. They even hired Balaam from Pethor in Aram Naharaim to put a curse on you. Balaam was the son of Beor.

你可以拿我的銀子糴糧食給我喫，也可以拿我的銀子賣水給我喝；只要容我步行過去，像住西珥的以掃子孫、和住亞珥的摩押人待我一樣，等我過了約但河，去得永恆主我們的上帝所賜給我們的地。」

於他們一切的患難中。並不是大使、不是天使、乃是他自己的臨在、拯救了他們；是以他的愛和憐惜才贖回了他們；是儘往古之日就懷抱了他們，懷搋了他們。

他就仆倒在地上，聽見有聲音對他說：『掃羅，掃羅，你為甚麼逼迫我？』

巴蘭便發表言論歌來、說：『巴勒領導我出亞蘭，摩押王領導我出東山，說：「來啊，為我咒詛雅各，來啊，怒罵以色列吧！」

因為我一定要使你非常榮顯；凡你向我說甚麼，我就作甚麼；只求你來、為我咒詛這族。」』

耶洗別剪滅了永恆主眾神言人的時候，俄巴底將一百個神言人藏了，每五十人在一個洞裏，用食物和水供養他們。——

而我得將我的食物和水、跟我為剪羊毛的人所屠宰的牲畜的肉、給不知道從哪裏來的人麼？』

亞伯蘭擊敗了基大老瑪和跟他同盟的王回來的時候，所多瑪王出來，在沙微山谷，就是王之山谷，迎接亞伯蘭。又有撒冷王麥基洗德、帶着餅和酒也出來：他是至高者上帝的祭司。

因為萬軍之永恆主在榮現之後差遣了我來宣告關於那些擄掠你們、的列國之事、是這麼說的：凡觸害着你們的就是觸害着永恆主眼中的瞳人。

他就差遣使者到比珥的兒子巴蘭那裏、到大河邊的毘奪、亞捫人之地那裏、去請巴蘭來，說：『看哪，有一族從埃及出來，遮滿了地面，也住在我的對面。這族比我強盛，現在求你來、為我咒詛這族，或者我能擊勝他們，能把他們趕出此地；因為我知道你給誰祝福，誰就得祝福，你咒詛誰，誰就受咒詛。』摩押的長老和米甸的長老手裏拿着占卜禮金，就起身，到了巴蘭那裏，將巴勒的話都告訴了他。

王必回答他們說：「我實在告訴你們，這些事你們既作在我這些弟兄中最小之一個的身上，就是作在我身上了。」
