If you see your fellow Israelite’s ox or sheep straying, do not ignore it but be sure to take it back to its owner.

Suppose you see your neighbor’s ox or sheep wandering away. Then don’t act as if you didn’t see it. Instead, make sure you take it back to its owner.

“ You shall not see your brother’s ox or his sheep going astray and ignore them. You shall take them back to your brother.

“ If you see your brother Israelite’s ox or sheep straying, do not ignore it; make sure you return it to your brother.

“ You shall not see your countryman’s ox or his sheep straying away, and avoid them; you shall certainly bring them back to your countryman.

Do the same if you find your neighbor’s donkey, clothing, or anything else your neighbor loses. Don’t ignore your responsibility.“ If you see that your neighbor’s donkey or ox has collapsed on the road, do not look the other way. Go and help your neighbor get it back on its feet!

My dear brothers and sisters, if someone among you wanders away from the truth and is brought back,you can be sure that whoever brings the sinner back from wandering will save that person from death and bring about the forgiveness of many sins.

Rescue those who are unjustly sentenced to die; save them as they stagger to their death.

Whoever gives to the poor will lack nothing, but those who close their eyes to poverty will be cursed.

“ By chance a priest came along. But when he saw the man lying there, he crossed to the other side of the road and passed him by.A Temple assistant walked over and looked at him lying there, but he also passed by on the other side.

“ If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them gets lost, what will he do? Won’t he leave the ninety nine others in the wilderness and go to search for the one that is lost until he finds it?And when he has found it, he will joyfully carry it home on his shoulders.When he arrives, he will call together his friends and neighbors, saying,‘ Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.’

I will search for my lost ones who strayed away, and I will bring them safely home again. I will bandage the injured and strengthen the weak. But I will destroy those who are fat and powerful. I will feed them, yes— feed them justice!

I will wait for the Lord, who has turned away from the descendants of Jacob. I will put my hope in him.

Share your food with the hungry, and give shelter to the homeless. Give clothes to those who need them, and do not hide from relatives who need your help.

Then Jesus said to the woman,“ I was sent only to help God’s lost sheep— the people of Israel.”

You have not taken care of the weak. You have not tended the sick or bound up the injured. You have not gone looking for those who have wandered away and are lost. Instead, you have ruled them with harshness and cruelty.

but only to the people of Israel— God’s lost sheep.

And if the people of the community ignore those who offer their children to Molech and refuse to execute them,

Once you were like sheep who wandered away. But now you have turned to your Shepherd, the Guardian of your souls.

“ If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them wanders away, what will he do? Won’t he leave the ninety nine others on the hills and go out to search for the one that is lost?And if he finds it, I tell you the truth, he will rejoice over it more than over the ninety nine that didn’t wander away!
