you must not leave the body hanging on the pole overnight. Be sure to bury it that same day, because anyone who is hung on a pole is under God’s curse. You must not desecrate the land the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance.

但基督替我們受了咒詛，從而救贖我們脫離了律法的咒詛，因為聖經上說：「凡掛在木頭上的人都是受咒詛的。」

因為那天是預備日，第二天的安息日是個大日子，為了避免在安息日有屍首留在十字架上，猶太人便求彼拉多叫人打斷他們的腿，好把他們搬走。

他們居住的土地也都被玷污了，所以我因他們的罪惡而懲罰那片土地，我要使那片土地吐出他們。

上帝使無罪的基督擔當我們的罪，使我們可以藉著基督成為被上帝接納的義人。

不可把可憎之物帶到家裡，否則你們會像它們一樣被毀滅。你們要極其憎惡、厭棄它們，因為它們是當毀滅之物。

所以，以色列人受咒詛，無法抵擋敵人，掉頭敗逃。你必須將那些本該毀滅的東西從你們中間除掉，不然我就不再與你們同在。

隨後約書亞將這五個王殺死，把屍體分別掛在五棵樹上，直到傍晚。日落時，約書亞才下令把屍體放下，丟在他們先前躲藏的山洞裡，用大石頭堵住洞口，石頭至今還在那裡。

為了我的弟兄——我的同胞以色列人，即使我自己被咒詛、與基督隔絕，我也願意！

約書亞又將艾城王的屍體掛在樹上示眾。黃昏時，他才吩咐人把屍體取下來丟在城門口，又在屍體上堆了一大堆石頭。石堆至今還在。

對摩西說：「把為首的人都抓起來，當著我的面在大白天處死他們，以消除我對以色列人的怒氣。」

這樣，你們就不致玷污你們所居住的土地，因為血會玷污土地。除非用兇手的血作抵償，否則被血玷污的土地無法得到潔淨。不可玷污你們所居住的土地，因為這是我居住的地方，我耶和華住在以色列人中間。』」

如果有人不愛主，這人可咒可詛！主啊，我願你來！

請你把掃羅的七個子孫交給我們。耶和華選立了掃羅，我們就在耶和華面前把他們吊死在掃羅的家鄉基比亞城。」王說：「我必把他們交給你們。」
