If someone guilty of a capital offense is put to death and their body is exposed on a pole,

Suppose someone is put to death for a crime worthy of death. And a pole is stuck through their body and set up where people can see it.

“ And if a man has committed a crime punishable by death and he is put to death, and you hang him on a tree,

Since it was the preparation day, the Jews did not want the bodies to remain on the cross on the Sabbath( for that Sabbath was a special day). They requested that Pilate have the men’s legs broken and that their bodies be taken away.So the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first man and of the other one who had been crucified with Him.When they came to Jesus, they did not break His legs since they saw that He was already dead.But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and at once blood and water came out.He who saw this has testified so that you also may believe. His testimony is true, and he knows he is telling the truth.For these things happened so that the Scripture would be fulfilled: Not one of His bones will be broken.Also, another Scripture says: They will look at the One they pierced.After this, Joseph of Arimathea, who was a disciple of Jesus— but secretly because of his fear of the Jews— asked Pilate that he might remove Jesus’ body. Pilate gave him permission, so he came and took His body away.

Do nothing to the young woman, because she is not guilty of an offense deserving death. This case is just like one in which a man attacks his neighbor and murders him.

What is your decision?” They answered,“ He deserves death!”

I found out that the accusations were about disputed matters in their law, and that there was no charge that merited death or chains.

When they arrived at the place called The Skull, they crucified Him there, along with the criminals, one on the right and one on the left.

Now I realized that he had not done anything deserving of death, but when he himself appealed to the Emperor, I decided to send him.

The Lord said to Moses,“ Take all the leaders of the people and execute them in broad daylight before the Lord so that His burning anger may turn away from Israel.”
