They shall say to the elders,“ This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey us. He is a glutton and a drunkard.”

They will say to the elders,“ This son of ours is very stubborn. He won’t obey us. He eats too much. He’s always getting drunk.”

and they shall say to the elders of his city,‘ This our son is stubborn and rebellious; he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton and a drunkard.’

The parents must say to the elders,‘ This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious and refuses to obey. He is a glutton and a drunkard.’

They will say to the elders of his city,‘ This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious; he doesn’t obey us. He’s a glutton and a drunkard.’

And they shall say to the elders of his city,‘ This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious; he does not obey us, he is thoughtless and given to drinking.’

清酒醇醪過飲、生侮慢、載號載呶、沉湎於酒、無智甚矣。

訓子以嚴、可獲安樂。

爾小子、聽我言而得智、守本心而遵道。蕩檢者勿交、沉湎者勿友、蓋饕餮甘酒、必致貧、思寢之人必衣敝。

誰遭禍患、誰起爭競、誰搆怨尤、誰目赤身傷、出於無因、惟耽麯櫱、嘗旨否、調劑甚厚者則若是。勿以觀酒為樂、其色貴朱、入爵則沸、依法而流、不知其終、酒傷若蛇、其毒若蝮、既沈湎於酒、則目注淫婦、心思邪僻、其危也、若偃息海中、高枕桅上。勿自謂受擊而不傷、醉為無害、醒而再飲。

欺父逐母、貽羞孰甚。
