If someone has a stubborn and rebellious son who does not obey his father and mother and will not listen to them when they discipline him,

Suppose someone has a very stubborn son. He doesn’t obey his father and mother. And he won’t listen to them when they try to correct him.

“ If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey the voice of his father or the voice of his mother, and, though they discipline him, will not listen to them,

“ Suppose a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey his father or mother, even though they discipline him.

“ If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who does not obey his father or mother and doesn’t listen to them even after they discipline him,

敬爾父母、則可於耶和華爾上帝所賜之地、而享遐齡。

敬爾父母、守我安息日、我耶和華爾之上帝所命如此、

又曰、藐視父母者、當服咒詛、民必群應曰、固心所願。

子宗主、必順父母、乃合所宜、以福許人之首誡、曰、敬爾父母、則受福享壽於世、

及時訓子、猶可望其遷善、若惡已稔、願其速死則晚矣。

天其聞之、地其聽之、耶和華曰、我養民如保赤子、而反忤逆。

子心愚昧、扑以明之。

爾小子、宜聽父訓、毋棄母儀。

耶和華又曰、昔我上帝傾圮所多馬蛾摩拉、爾中數人、亦遭隕越、其餘得救、如脫於火、爾尚不歸誠於我、故我必降爾以罰、以色列族乎、爾之上帝將臨汝、必預為備、思何以當之、

爾當心知、爾上帝耶和華督責爾、如人督責其子、

我聞以法蓮哭曰、昔予如放逸之犢、爾督責予、而我受責、爾耶和華乃我之上帝、俾我悛改。

竊父母之財、自言無罪者、與盜無異。

斯邑之人、藐視父母、凌侮旅人、強暴孤寡。

髫齡必受督責、杖之則身不歸死地、魂不墮陰府。

杖箠不及其子、不謂之愛、惟愛子者、備加扑責。

訓子以嚴、可獲安樂。

我必為其父、彼必為我子、若其行惡、我將責之、猶人之督責其子。

邑民行淫、至於污衊、我欲滌之、不肯成潔、故依然染污、待予降災、以雪我忿、

爾既屢犯、我將加罰、奈身首俱傷、肝膽皆裂、當擊何處。

藐父訓者愚、聽格言者智。

耶和華與、爾之鑒觀不爽、加以督責、彼不哀慟、殲滅殆盡、彼不受教、彼顏堅於石、不肯歸誠。

詛父母者殺無赦。

有人咒詛父母、

如祭司之女行淫自玷、辱及於父、必爇以火。

生我身之父責我、而我敬之、況賦我神之父、豈不當誠服以得永生乎、生我身之父、或暫時任意責我、賦我神之父、乃為我益而責我、使我得與作聖、凡責我者、我受時憂而不樂、後經練習、則結善果、以致平康、

欺父逆母者、厥目為谷鴉所啄、鷹雛所噬、

詛父母者、其燈必滅、其光必暗。

擊父母者殺無赦。
