試觀亞捫人、摩押人、及西珥山人、即以色列族出埃及時、爾所禁侵其境、使轉離之、不加翦滅者、今彼若何報我、乃來逐我、出爾所賜為業之地、我上帝歟、爾不懲之乎、我儕無力禦此攻我之眾、不知所為、我目惟爾是望、

然未嘗以業賜之、即立足之地、亦無之、維時彼尚無子、而上帝許以斯地賜之為業、爰及其裔、
