as the descendants of Esau, who live in Seir, and the Moabites, who live in Ar, did for us— until we cross the Jordan into the land the Lord our God is giving us.”

The people of Esau, who live in Seir, allowed us to do that. The people of Moab, who live in Ar, also allowed us to do it. So let us walk through until we go across the Jordan River. Then we’ll be able to go into the land the Lord our God is giving us.”

就派遣使者去见以东王，说：求你让我们经过你的领土。以东王却不答应；又派遣使者去见摩押王，摩押王也不肯；以色列人就住在加低斯。以后，他们走过旷野，绕过以东地和摩押地，到了摩押地的东边，在亚嫩河那边安营；他们并没有进入摩押境内，因为亚嫩河是摩押的边界。

以东王对使者说：“你不可从我这里经过，免得我带着刀出来攻击你。”

亚扪人或摩押人不可进耶和华的会；他们的后代直到第十代，也永远不可进耶和华的会。因为你们出埃及的时候，他们没有拿食物和水在路上迎接你们，又因为他们从两河之间的亚兰的毗夺雇了比珥的儿子巴兰，来攻击你，咒诅你。

你要知道，耶和华你的神把这美地赐给你作产业，并不是因着你的义；你本来是顽固的民族。

“以色列人哪，现在你们要听我向来教训你们遵行的律例和典章，使你们可以活着，可以进去得着耶和华你们列祖的神赐给你们的地作产业。

耶和华对我说：‘你不可敌视摩押人，也不可与他们争战；他们的地我不赐给你作产业，因为我已经把亚珥赐给了罗得的子孙作产业。

你要有准确公正的法码，你要有准确公正的升斗，好使你在耶和华你的神赐给你的地上，得享长寿。

“你们要走遍营中，吩咐人民说：‘你们要预备粮食，因为三天之内，你们要过这约旦河，进去得耶和华你们的神要赐给你们作产业的地。’”约书亚又对流本人、迦得人和玛拿西半个支派的人说：“你们要记住耶和华的仆人摩西吩咐你们的话：‘耶和华你们的神赐你们安息，他必把这地赐给你们。’你们的妻子、孩子和牲畜，都可以留在约旦河东边、摩西赐给你们的地上；但你们所有英勇的战士，都要拿起武器，在你们的兄弟前面过河去，帮助他们；等到耶和华使你们的兄弟可以和你们一样安居，同样得着耶和华你们的神要赐给他们作产业的地，你们才可以回到你们所得的地，以它作你们的产业，就是耶和华的仆人摩西在约旦河东边日出之地赐给你们的地方。”

你要遵守我今日吩咐你的律例和诫命，使你和你的子孙得享福乐，也使你在耶和华你的神赐给你的那地上得享长寿。”

“‘要孝敬父母，照着耶和华你的神吩咐你的，使你可以得享长寿，也使你在耶和华你的神赐给你的地上，得享福乐。

耶和华又因你们的缘故，向我发怒，并且起誓不让我过约旦河，也不容我进入耶和华你的神赐给你作产业的那美地。
