『但若有人恨他的鄰舍，埋伏等着他，起來打他，擊打了他，以致他斃命死去；那殺人的若逃到一座這樣的城，

人若仇怨人、暗伏窺伺、乘機起而擊之、傷其生命、後逃於三邑中之一邑、

But if out of hate someone lies in wait, assaults and kills a neighbor, and then flees to one of these cities,

But suppose a man hates his neighbor. So he hides and waits for him. Then he attacks him and kills him. And he runs to one of those cities for safety.

“ But if anyone hates his neighbor and lies in wait for him and attacks him and strikes him fatally so that he dies, and he flees into one of these cities,

“ But suppose someone is hostile toward a neighbor and deliberately ambushes and murders him and then flees to one of the cities of refuge.

“ But if there is a person who hates his neighbor, and waits in ambush for him and rises up against him and strikes him so that he dies, and he flees to one of these cities,

『「暗中擊殺鄰舍的、必受咒詛」；眾民都要說：「阿們。」

『倘若人用鐵器擊打人，以致那人死去，那就是故意殺人的；故意殺人的、必須被處死。人若手中拿着會打死人的石頭去擊打人、以致那人死去，那就是故意殺人的；故意殺人的、必須被處死。或是人手裏拿着會打死人的木器去擊打人，以致那人死去，那就是故意殺人的；故意殺人的、必須被處死。報血仇的要親自把那故意殺人的打死；遇見他的時候，就可以把他打死。人若因怨恨人而把人推倒，或是懷着惡意往人身上扔東西，以致那人死去，或是因仇恨用手擊打人，以致那人死去，那擊打人的必須被處死，他是故意殺人的；報血仇的遇見那故意殺人的，就可以把他打死。

『使人流血的、人也必使他流血；因為上帝造人、是按上帝自己的形像造的。

流人血的人必逃跑、到入陰坑；人不可支持他。

『擊打人以至於死的、必須被處死。若不是懷着惡意殺人，而是上帝交在他手中，我就給你設下一個地方，他可以往那裏逃跑。人若任意待他的鄰舍，用詭計去殺他，你也要從我的壇那裏把他捉去處死。

那麼、會眾就要按照這些典章在擊打人者與報血仇者之間審判是非。
