But if out of hate someone lies in wait, assaults and kills a neighbor, and then flees to one of these cities,

But suppose a man hates his neighbor. So he hides and waits for him. Then he attacks him and kills him. And he runs to one of those cities for safety.

“‘如果人用鐵器打人，以致把人打死，他就是故意殺人的；故意殺人的必被處死。如果人手裡拿著可以打死人的石頭打人，以致把人打死，他就是故意殺人的；故意殺人的必被處死。如果人手裡拿著可以打死人的木器打人，以致把人打死，他就是故意殺人的；故意殺人的必被處死。報血仇的，要親自把那故意殺人的殺死；一遇見他，就可以殺死他。如果人因懷恨把人推倒，或是埋伏著向人扔東西，以致把人打死；或者因仇恨用手打人，以致把人打死；那打人的，必被處死，因為他是故意殺人的；報血仇的一遇見兇手，就可以殺死他。

流人血的，人也必流他的血；因為神造人，是按著他自己的形象。

背負流人血之罪的，必逃跑至死，人不可幫助他。

“打人以致把人打死的，必要把那人處死。人若不是蓄意殺人，而是神交在他手中的，我就給你設立一個地方，他可以逃到那裡去。若有人任意待他的鄰舍，用詭計把他殺了，你要把他從我的祭壇那裡拿去處死。

這樣，會眾就要照著典章，在打死人的和報血仇的人中間施行裁判。
