He must not take many wives, or his heart will be led astray. He must not accumulate large amounts of silver and gold.

The king must not have many wives. If he does, they will lead him astray. He must not store up large amounts of silver and gold.

And he shall not acquire many wives for himself, lest his heart turn away, nor shall he acquire for himself excessive silver and gold.

我又说：“以色列王所罗门不是在这样的事上犯罪吗？在多国中并没有一王像他，且蒙他神所爱，神立他作以色列全国的王；然而连他也被外邦女子引诱犯罪。

因此，人要离开父母，与妻子连合，二人成为一体。

所罗门王在法老的女儿之外，又宠爱许多外邦女子，就是摩押女子、亚扪女子、以东女子、西顿女子、赫人女子。论到这些国的人，耶和华曾晓谕以色列人说：“你们不可与她们往来相通，因为她们必诱惑你们的心去随从她们的神。”所罗门却恋爱这些女子。所罗门有妃七百，都是公主；还有嫔三百。这些妃嫔诱惑他的心。所罗门年老的时候，他的妃嫔诱惑他的心去随从别神，不效法他父亲大卫诚诚实实地顺服耶和华他的神。

求你使虚假和谎言远离我；使我也不贫穷也不富足；赐给我需用的饮食，恐怕我饱足不认你，说：耶和华是谁呢？又恐怕我贫穷就偷窃，以致亵渎我神的名。

不要仗势欺人，也不要因抢夺而骄傲；若财宝加增，不要放在心上。

并且说：‘因此，人要离开父母，与妻子连合，二人成为一体。’这经你们没有念过吗？

大卫在希伯仑得了几个儿子：长子暗嫩是耶斯列人亚希暖所生的；次子基利押是作过迦密人拿八的妻亚比该所生的；三子押沙龙是基述王达买的女儿玛迦所生的；四子亚多尼雅是哈及所生的；五子示法提雅是亚比他所生的；六子以特念是大卫的妻以格拉所生的。大卫这六个儿子都是在希伯仑生的。

于是对众人说：“你们要谨慎自守，免去一切的贪心，因为人的生命不在乎家道丰富。”

你要嘱咐那些今世富足的人，不要自高，也不要倚靠无定的钱财；只要倚靠那厚赐百物给我们享受的神。

虽然神有灵的余力能造多人，他不是单造一人吗？为何只造一人呢？乃是他愿人得虔诚的后裔。所以当谨守你们的心，谁也不可以诡诈待幼年所娶的妻。

但那些想要发财的人，就陷在迷惑、落在网罗和许多无知有害的私欲里，叫人沉在败坏和灭亡中。

耶稣对门徒说：“我实在告诉你们，财主进天国是难的。我又告诉你们，骆驼穿过针的眼，比财主进神的国还容易呢！”

撒在荆棘里的，就是人听了道，后来有世上的思虑、钱财的迷惑把道挤住了，不能结实。

“不要为自己积攒财宝在地上；地上有虫子咬，能锈坏，也有贼挖窟窿来偷。只要积攒财宝在天上；天上没有虫子咬，不能锈坏，也没有贼挖窟窿来偷。

所罗门王一切的饮器都是金子的。黎巴嫩林宫里的一切器皿都是精金的。所罗门年间，银子算不了什么。
