Didn’t King Solomon of Israel sin in matters like this? There was not a king like him among many nations. He was loved by his God, and God made him king over all Israel, yet foreign women drew him into sin.

This is why a man leaves his father and mother and bonds with his wife, and they become one flesh.

King Solomon loved many foreign women in addition to Pharaoh’s daughter: Moabite, Ammonite, Edomite, Sidonian, and Hittite womenfrom the nations about which the LORD had told the Israelites,“ You must not intermarry with them, and they must not intermarry with you, because they will turn your heart away to follow their gods.” To these women Solomon was deeply attached in love.He had seven hundred wives who were princesses and three hundred who were concubines, and they turned his heart away.When Solomon was old, his wives turned his heart away to follow other gods. He was not wholeheartedly devoted to the LORD his God, as his father David had been.

Keep falsehood and deceitful words far from me. Give me neither poverty nor wealth; feed me with the food I need.Otherwise, I might have too much and deny you, saying,“ Who is the LORD?” or I might have nothing and steal, profaning the name of my God.

Place no trust in oppression or false hope in robbery. If wealth increases, don’t set your heart on it.

and he also said,‘ For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’?

He then told them,“ Watch out and be on guard against all greed, because one’s life is not in the abundance of his possessions.”

Instruct those who are rich in the present age not to be arrogant or to set their hope on the uncertainty of wealth, but on God, who richly provides us with all things to enjoy.

Didn’t God make them one and give them a portion of spirit? What is the one seeking? Godly offspring. So watch yourselves carefully, so that no one acts treacherously against the wife of his youth.

But those who want to be rich fall into temptation, a trap, and many foolish and harmful desires, which plunge people into ruin and destruction.

Jesus said to his disciples,“ Truly I tell you, it will be hard for a rich person to enter the kingdom of heaven.Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.”

Now the one sown among the thorns— this is one who hears the word, but the worries of this age and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.

“ Don’t store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal.But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves don’t break in and steal.

All of King Solomon’s drinking cups were gold, and all the utensils of the House of the Forest of Lebanon were pure gold. There was no silver, since it was considered as nothing in Solomon’s time,
