Take care lest there be an unworthy thought in your heart and you say,‘ The seventh year, the year of release is near,’ and your eye look grudgingly on your poor brother, and you give him nothing, and he cry to the Lord against you, and you be guilty of sin.

勿惡念是懷、謂七年當釋之期伊邇、遂睚眦同儕之貧乏者、無有所予、其呼籲耶和華、罪歸於爾、

慎毋起惡念於心、謂七年即豁免之年伊邇、遂向兄弟之貧乏者吝嗇無有所給、彼因爾呼籲主、罪歸於爾、

Be careful not to harbor this wicked thought:“ The seventh year, the year for canceling debts, is near,” so that you do not show ill will toward the needy among your fellow Israelites and give them nothing. They may then appeal to the Lord against you, and you will be found guilty of sin.

Be careful not to have an evil thought in your mind. Don’t say to yourself,“ The seventh year will soon be here. It’s the year for forgiving people what they owe.” If you think like that, you might treat the needy people among you badly. You might not give them anything. Then they might make their appeal to the Lord against you. And he will find you guilty of sin.

Do not be mean spirited and refuse someone a loan because the year for canceling debts is close at hand. If you refuse to make the loan and the needy person cries out to the Lord, you will be considered guilty of sin.

Be careful that there isn’t this wicked thought in your heart,‘ The seventh year, the year of canceling debts, is near,’ and you are stingy toward your poor brother and give him nothing. He will cry out to the LORD against you, and you will be guilty.

Be careful that there is no mean spirited thought in your heart, such as,‘ The seventh year, the year of release of debts, is near,’ and your eye is malicious toward your poor brother, and you give him nothing; then he may cry out to the Lord against you, and it will be a sin in you.

Beware lest there be a wicked thought in your heart, saying,‘ The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand,’ and your eye be evil against your poor brother and you give him nothing, and he cry out to the Lord against you, and it become sin among you.

Beware that there be not a base thought in thy heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand; and thine eye be evil against thy poor brother, and thou give him nought; and he cry unto Jehovah against thee, and it be sin unto thee.

Be careful that there isn’t this wicked thought in your heart,‘ The seventh year, the year of canceling debts, is near,’ and you are stingy toward your poor brother and give him nothing. He will cry out to the Lord against you, and you will be guilty.

Beware that there be not a thought in thy wicked heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand; and thine eye be evil against thy poor brother, and thou givest him nought; and he cry unto the LORD against thee, and it be sin unto thee.

Be careful lest you entertain the wicked thought that the seventh year, the year of cancellation of debts, has almost arrived, and your attitude be wrong toward your impoverished fellow Israelite and you do not lend him anything; he will cry out to the LORD against you and you will be regarded as having sinned.

Beware that there not be a wicked thought in your heart, saying,“ The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand,” and your eye be evil against your poor brother and you give him nothing; and he cry to Yahweh against you, and it be sin to you.

You shall give him his wages on the same day, before the sun sets( for he is poor and counts on it), lest he cry against you to the Lord, and you be guilty of sin.

Am I not allowed to do what I choose with what belongs to me? Or do you begrudge my generosity?’

Behold, the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, are crying out against you, and the cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of hosts.

Do not eat the bread of a man who is stingy; do not desire his delicacies,

If you do mistreat them, and they cry out to me, I will surely hear their cry,

A stingy man hastens after wealth and does not know that poverty will come upon him.

so that they caused the cry of the poor to come to him, and he heard the cry of the afflicted—

Show hospitality to one another without grumbling.

For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery,coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness.

“ Then he will say to those on his left,‘ Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink,I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’Then they also will answer, saying,‘ Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’Then he will answer them, saying,‘ Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’

But sin, seizing an opportunity through the commandment, produced in me all kinds of covetousness. For apart from the law, sin lies dead.I was once alive apart from the law, but when the commandment came, sin came alive and I died.

The man who is the most tender and refined among you will begrudge food to his brother, to the wife he embraces, and to the last of the children whom he has left,so that he will not give to any of them any of the flesh of his children whom he is eating, because he has nothing else left, in the siege and in the distress with which your enemy shall distress you in all your towns.The most tender and refined woman among you, who would not venture to set the sole of her foot on the ground because she is so delicate and tender, will begrudge to the husband she embraces, to her son and to her daughter,

Or do you suppose it is to no purpose that the Scripture says,“ He yearns jealously over the spirit that he has made to dwell in us”?

For he who avenges blood is mindful of them; he does not forget the cry of the afflicted.

Whoever closes his ear to the cry of the poor will himself call out and not be answered.

“ I the Lord search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.”

Then the Lord said,“ I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters. I know their sufferings,

For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander.

“ At the end of every seven years you shall grant a release.

So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.

Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.

The devising of folly is sin, and the scoffer is an abomination to mankind.

Do not grumble against one another, brothers, so that you may not be judged; behold, the Judge is standing at the door.
