If any of your people— Hebrew men or women— sell themselves to you and serve you six years, in the seventh year you must let them go free.

Suppose any Hebrew men or women sell themselves to you. If they do, they will serve you for six years. Then in the seventh year you must let them go free.

倘若你們的希伯來同胞賣身做你們的奴隸，服侍你們六年後，到第七年你們要給他們自由。你們的祖先卻掩耳不聽。

「如果你們的同胞窮得把自己賣給你們，不可把他當作奴隸，要待他像雇工和寄居者一樣。他要為你工作到禧年。到了禧年，他和孩子們便可以離開你們，回到自己的宗族和祖業。

你若買一個希伯來人當奴僕，他必須服侍你六年，到第七年便可以獲得自由，不用支付任何贖金。倘若買他的時候，他是單身，那麼期滿的時候，他可以單身離開。如果他跟妻子一同被買，就可以帶妻子一起離開。倘若主人給他娶了妻，妻子生了兒女，那麼期滿的時候，他只能單獨離開，他的妻兒要歸主人。倘若奴僕說，『我愛我的主人和我的妻子兒女，我不願意離開他們做自由人。』主人就要帶他到審判官面前，讓他靠著門或門框，用錐子為他穿耳洞。這樣，他就要永遠服侍主人。

「每逢第七年末，你們要免除他人的債務。

奴隸不能永遠留在主人的家裡，只有兒子才可以。所以，如果上帝的兒子釋放了你們，你們就真正自由了！
