There will always be poor people in the land. Therefore I command you to be openhanded toward your fellow Israelites who are poor and needy in your land.

There will always be poor people in the land. So I’m commanding you to give freely to those who are poor and needy in your land. Open your hands to them.

For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you,‘ You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.’

There will always be some in the land who are poor. That is why I am commanding you to share freely with the poor and with other Israelites in need.

他們所需要的，你們要慷慨地借給他們。

主耶穌為我們捨命，我們由此便知道什麼是愛，我們也應當為弟兄姊妹捨命。如果一個豐衣足食的人看見貧窮的弟兄姊妹，卻毫無憐憫之心，怎能說他愛上帝呢？所以，孩子們啊，不要單在口頭上說愛人，總要以真誠的行動表現出來。

富人和窮人相同：都由耶和華所造。

當時所有信徒都同心合意，共用所有的東西，沒有人說他的財物只屬於自己。使徒充滿能力，繼續為主耶穌復活的事做見證，上帝也賜下極大的恩典給眾人。信徒都一無所缺，因為大家賣掉房屋田產，把所得的錢交給使徒，照各人的需要分配給各人。

其中一位名叫亞迦布，他得到聖靈的啟示，站起來預言天下將有嚴重的饑荒。後來，這事果然在克勞狄執政期間發生了。門徒決定各盡所能，捐款救濟住在猶太境內的弟兄姊妹。他們捐完後，委託巴拿巴和掃羅將款項送交耶路撒冷教會的長老。

要變賣你們的家產去賙濟窮人，要為自己預備永不破損的錢袋，在天上積攢取之不盡的財寶，那裡沒有賊偷，也沒有蟲蛀。

他們雖然遭遇極大的患難，受盡熬煉，卻充滿了喜樂，在極度貧窮的情況下仍然十分慷慨樂捐。我可以證明，他們是甘心樂意，盡其所能地捐助，甚至超過了自己的能力。他們懇切地求我們准許他們與有需要的聖徒分享上帝的恩典。他們這樣做超過了我們的期望，並且他們按照上帝的旨意首先把自己獻給主，然後獻給我們。所以，我們勸提多要繼續完成他早先在你們當中開始的這件善事。你們既然在信心、口才、知識、熱心和對我們的愛心上都有突出的表現，也要在這件善事上有突出的表現。我說這話並非命令你們，而是藉著別人的熱心考驗一下你們愛心的真偽。因為你們知道我們主耶穌基督的恩典，祂本來富足，卻為你們的緣故變得貧窮，使你們藉著祂的貧窮可以變得富足。

有求你的，就給他；有向你借的，不可拒絕他。

他們把田產家業變賣了，按照各人的需要把錢分給大家。
